GRIEF AND IT'S MANY FORMS

GRIEF AND IT'S MANY FORMS

I have counseled many who have experienced grief the last 13 years. I know God plans for me to counsel and teach many more how He has taught me we all can overcome grief in its various forms. I know because I have experienced the power of His grace that has healed many forms of grief myself. Let’s discuss it briefly today and I hope through this little rain drop from His wisdom of truth you will turn to Him more when you experience any form of grief. If you need more counseling or teaching how you can overcome it through all He has given me to teach others, I am not hard to find.

Let us describe grief first. It is used as a noun and a verb. This is a word many of us need to study.

  • The noun usage - a mental pierce suffering or distress over an affliction or loss. It is described as a sharp sorrow that can leave painful regret.

In God’s definition this would be a fruit of our natural human behavior or fruit that leads to our emotions. Fruit is what we produce or pour out in how we respond to relationships and our circumstances in our daily life. Greif is a natural emotion we experience through our human response, and it does not matter if we or any else sees it, or experiences it, grief is there. At some point grief will reveal itself it could be while we are living, or after we are dead; it will appear through our spirit (heart) and soul (mind) at some point.

  • The verb usage – to behave in a disrespectful manner with pleasure in antagonizing someone. Antagonizing means provoking someone with unfriendly remarks or actions.
  • Internet verb usage – to perform a glitch on a website or in any computer system. To execute an online prank that ruins a person’s reputation or online experience for users.

Now lets apply what God teaches us about grief and how it has affected Him, noun, and verb, and how it affects us.

Genesis, in God’s beginning Story of Himself and mankind, God is experiencing grief from humans because He created humans. I believe He reveals it is a sharp sorrow that left Him with feelings of regret. He is revealing to us He also has a soul and spirit, and he also grieves.

Genesis 6:6 And Jehovah ( LORD) saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and every imagination of the thought of his heart was only evil all day long. And Jehovah repented that He has made man on the earth, and He was grieved to His heart. And Jehovah said, I will wipe off man who I have created from the face of the earth, from man to beast, to the creeping thing and to the bird of the heavens: for I repent that I made them. And Noah found grace in the eyes of Jehovah.

How can this be if He knows all from past and future and has the power to change anything and create anything or person from nothing? Why wouldn’t He create his human and natural creations in a form he would not experience any grief or regret from? Because He would have to create human being without any freewill and we will always cause Him grief when we choose not to accept Him and His ways, but like all His regret it is overcome by those who do. In this case it was Noah and his family. If He created us without any grief we would all be God ourselves. Our Heavenly Father, His Son, and His Spirit would have never experienced any either, but they would not be the Only Holy Spirits in mind and thought who Created All in All!

I can’t speak for you and your beliefs, but I did not create myself or creation. I am not all knowing and all seeing from everlasting to everlasting. He will always experience regret from those who do not follow Him, and His grief and regret is always overcome by those who do. In this scripture about Noah and his family we can see they helped God overcome His grief because they followed Him and His ways. We will also receive through His children that follow Christ they help Him also overcome His grief. He knew this long before He created creation so His grief quickly passes as quickly as it comes.

He also causes us grief and regret when we do not know Him or follow Him. Those are the afflictions of our sinful nature that can only be overcome by Him through His Son by way of His Holy Spirit of truth. This may sound horrible to some to have a God that causes us grief but those who know Him are thankful for that grief from their sinful nature because it was His Godly sorrow that lead them to Him and their salvation. God works through His given sorrow in healing us in ways that take us beyond our imaginations. That is why His salvation is a miracle of grace and goes beyond our understanding.

Isaiah 30:19 For the people shall live in Zion, at Jerusalem; you shall surely cry no more. He sure will be gracious to you at the sound of your cry. When He hears, He will answer you. 20 And the Lord gives you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction; but your teachers shall not be hidden anymore; but your eyes shall be to see your teachers. 21 And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, this the way, walk in it, when you right, or when you go left. And you shall defile the covering of your carved images of silver, and the covering of your molten images of gold. You shall cast them out like a menstruous (menstrual) cloth; you shall say to it go away!

2 Corinthians 7:9 Now I rejoice, not that you were grieved, but that you grieved to repentance. For you were grieved according to God, that you might suffer loss in nothing by us. For the grief according to God works repentance to salvation, not to be regretted. But the grief of the world works out death.

We can see through all of God’s truth we first have to know Him through His Spirit of truth before He reveals His grief and our Godly sorrow we experience from Him through our sinful nature we are willing to crucify for His sake. Does that mean all our grief is over? No, it means we now have begun knowing Godly grief and how we can overcome it and all the other forms of grief in our lives we will experience can be overcome through His grace.

After we understand the measure of grief He has taken away through our sinful nature He will reveal all other grief we will experience in different measures, and at different times in our life. We will know there is no grief in life we cannot overcome through His Spirit of truth. All this grief is given to make us stronger in His image of His Son through our relationship with Him through all He gives. Some of this grief we will have no control over and some we will. We will cause our own grief when we do not follow Him, but it is still given by Him and He will give us a way out when we turn back to Him through His given repentance. He knows when we will or if we will, and He will always give those He knows will His power to overcome it.

The grief we have no control over, the loss of a job, business, our health, and the worst grief, a loss of experiencing the physical voice and touch of a loved one we will never physically hear or touch again, and our own loss we will experience when He calls each of us home. The loss of experiencing their relationship is a deep wound and it comes in different measures concerning the circumstances around it and how close we are to that person. That is the worse loss any of us can experience other than the fear of losing His Spiritual given relationship. Many have more fear of losing a loved one greater than losing His relationship they have with Him and when that occurs we will not receive all He has to give us to overcome the relationship we are losing.

That is why He gives those who value His relationship greater than any others what they need to overcome the loss of another relationship and even the loss of their own lives. Many think time is the healer of all wounds when it comes to losing a relationship from this world, but truly it is our Spiritual relationship with Him that helps us overcome any physical relationship we can see and touch we have lost and that includes our own loss or grief we will have when He calls us home.

It is one of my favorite miracles of grace He proves, but one of least many experience in the world today because they are focused more on what they have lost or will lose than Him. They miss out all He gives them to gain from through all He can only give that helps them overcome any grief they will ever face!

We will all suffer grief sometime in our life, perhaps because of losing a loved one, perhaps from the pressures in our world. We know that God created this wonderful world, and we are here for our lifetime. But we don’t know when we will be called to Him for judgement, to see if we will enter heaven, or not. But Christians know that they have been saved through His grace and mercy, and not by anything that we have done, or can do. We have been redeemed through the death and resurrection of His only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and to give us everlasting life. But to be in heaven tomorrow, we must have God in our heart today. You cannot be a part-time Christian, because there is no part-time heaven.
