Happy Thanksgiving to All...
My eight, soon-to-nine grandchildren in Sonoma for Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to All...

I just returned from my morning walk in the lovely neighborhood up from my cottage here in Del Mar, California. The weather is gorgeous with blue skies and a nice crisp chill in the air. My walk takes me high above the mighty Pacific and I can hear the waves crashing below.

2020 and all its madness is ending soon and I, like all Americans, have high hopes for an end to COVID and a return to whatever "normalcy" is in store for us. We are a resilient people and our dawn is returning...I feel it.

In the meantime, as I sit on my back porch writing this, I reflect on what is truly most important in one's life...it is family and the people that you love. My marriage ended over 25 years ago and my two daughters were not much older than my grandchildren are now. I missed a great deal of their growing up and remain utterly amazed and grateful how each daughter has her very own family of thriving children and great lives of their own. I am so thankful.

COVID effectively destroyed every one of my hard-earned ventures in travel, luxury eldercare, and even my foray into a "Cannabis Church." Yet here I am, eternally optimistic for the future for myself and our Nation. Everything hinges on our optimism and faith. One cannot lose if you don't give up. And people....giving up is decidedly NOT in our DNA as Americans.

Let us all take a deep breath of fresh air and our very freedom and thank our Maker for the lives we do have. That is what Thanksgiving is all about to me. God bless you all!
