Happy World Book Day!!
April 23rd and World Book Day are one of the most expected combos that spring (autumn for our south colleagues) brings for celebration. As usual I share my recommendations on books for such important event. this year combines fiction, historic novel and research works, all of them with a common point, learning as we enjoy. Although might sound pedantic, my pretention is far to be the next Bill Gates or a guru, I'm just a professional sharing my reads and recommendations on good books.
- Antifragile. Nassim Nicholas Taleb has been a recent discovery during the last year lockdown, their reflections and on this book bring a quite interesting subject, how things can get benefit from disorder and volatility. With such brilliant purpose and guideline a brand new world has been put in front of the reader and things will be never be the same.
- Thinking, fast and slow. Years of research compiled in a fine and easy read for all audiences in which we will discover the reason why we take totally opposite decisions with exact same circunstances.
- Ogilvy on advertising by David Ogilvy himself. Despite it was written several years ago most of the ideas, techniques and philosophy are still valid and even massive to apply nowadays. As a personal takeaway I will confess that I'm putting in practice some of his guidelines (no rules allowed!!!).
As you may imagine smart reader, most of my readings in English are professional oriented and I cannot suggest any fictional book at this point, but I have some on my book shelve for this summer!
