Hello January 2023! Happy New Year!
ABOUT ME
I know everyone says this, but can we really already be in 2023!
I still feel the last few years have been so strange and challenging for so many reasons that we’ve all been cheated out of some time.
Some say that time is our most precious commodity because we can’t get it back…
Me I say it’s your health, because time is meaningless without good health….
But that is one big debate.
However, having seen some posts recently here on LinkedIn where folks have spoken about ending 2022/starting with 2023 in poor health, in hospital, in bed with Covid for days etc. it struck a chord with me, because obviously I think your health is the most important thing you can have.
And generally that’s what these peeps were saying… I took my health for granted and when it’s really not great it’s made me realise the importance of health and things like family, friends, myself, NOT work…..
So for you in 2023, above all else I wish you and yours the very best of health!
ABOUT YOU
How do you feel this week?
How do you really feel?
Do you feel lethargic and lacking in energy even if you’ve had some time off?
Do you feel your clothes are all a bit too snug?
Do you KNOW that you’ve gained weight, but this week is just too difficult to do anything about it, being the first proper week back to work?
You see I know how that feels……
I know what it’s like to just put your head in the sand.
But starting this week yesterday/today it’s kind of madness!
It’s just putting pressure on yourself and when you do that, the likelihood of failure becomes higher – you think you’ve got to do it because not only did you not lose the 20lbs you promised you would last year, you’ve actually gained 5lbs over the festive season….
So with tired resignation, today is the day you start the discipline and restriction of “getting back to it” …. Living on dust and air, planning to go to the gym 5 times a week and hitting those 10k steps daily…..
“I know what to do, I’ve just got to do it and stick to it”
Maybe “it” is a soup diet or you fast all day and have one meal in the evening. Or perhaps it’s back to Weight Watchers because that worked really well last time.

And whilst all these things “worked” in the past, the tired resignation is because you regained all the weight and more by these overly restrictive and willpower methods…. You don’t want to count syns or points for the rest of your life and frankly who wants to eat soup forever (and I love soup me!!!)
“The definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result” said Albert Einstein …. So why would you do it again, why?
This January I urge you to take a step back and re-evaluate about what you really want.
People rarely just want to lose weight, they want to feel better about others things…
Maybe its
✅You want to run around and keep up with the kids or grandkids
✅You want to have all day energy and not that mid-afternoon slump
✅ You don’t want your knees to ache so much
✅ You want to be able to walk upstairs without getting breathless
✅ You want to look fantastic naked
✅ You want to reduce your blood pressure or pre-diabetic condition (very powerful)
But you want to do these things for life not just for a few weeks or month.
Think about being a fitter, stronger, healthier, happier you and a great side effect is losing weight.
And of course, if this really is the year you want to change, let’s have that conversation. You can click on the link below for a no obligation chat later this week to work out your goals!
Wish you a wonderful 2023!

1yHappy New Year Lisa Thanks for the newsletter. Not sure people want to see me naked! As it's mild in UK, good to get out for a walk in fresh air, clears the mind. Days are getting longer, 2 minutes 7 seconds each day, use it wisely. Relax, and let your mind go blank. Easy for me.🤣 It is a good time to reflect on what you want to achieve.
🌟Not just another interim manager, but probably one of the best you will ever find 🎾 Tennis nut #rafafan (and Carlitos!) 🎾
