Here is an Easy Way to Get Better at Impromptu Speaking

Following up my recent message on the best way to be fast on your feet, here is an easy exercise for those situations when you don't have preparation time. It's technique everyone can master.

Assume you've got 2 minutes and begin a stream-of-consciousness narrative out loud. Talk about what you're seeing, what you're thinking, what you're doing, and then do your best to wrap it up with some kind of through line, pulling together what you've said.

It doesn't have to be brilliant, but it's important that you do it. You'll find yourself getting better and better, and it's great practice for meaningful impromptu commentary!
