Inadequate online presence of your business hampering traffic and profitability

Are you the owner of a coffee shop? A supermarket? A car showroom? Are you running ANY BUSINESS? If you are, you might already be having a website for your brand.

Modern entrepreneurs need not be educated about the importance of a genuine online presence. It is currently the most popular tool to reach your audience (customers and clients in this regard) and make the maximum revenue out of the presence. Competition is another factor that mandates the presence of a well maintained website and adds competitive advantages to your product/service lines.

However, it would be interesting to know that while most businesses today have been able to establish a website for themselves, they aren’t quite sure whether it is doing them any good. The most striking reasons are:

  • Presence of old and outdated information that haven’t been revised in a while and more often act as a tool to misguide audience
  • Poorly designed websites that just don’t attract the attention
  • Inconsistent website performance, slow loading pages, inappropriate use of colors, graphics and content
  • Lack of detailed information concerning the business

Many unwary businesses have further fulfilled the courtesy of having a web presence but have used readymade templates available as free downloads from difference websites. Some have cared to spend just a few 100 bucks assigning their web design and development project to careless designers. However, this is where businesses need to understand that a website in modern times is the lifeblood of a business and such careless practices will just backfire.

Just putting up a website isn’t enough. This will be perfectly explained if you put your thoughts into the following things:

  1. How many business/enquiry calls did you get via the phone number you have put up on your website?
  2. How many emails did you receive in your business mail inbox?
  3. How many other forms of genuine you received through contact information/forms provided on your website?

For those not satisfied by their web presence, the answer for all of the above questions is likely to be below 50. This proves that you aren’t even doing enough justice to the small amount that you had invested in creating the website apart from the fact that you are losing out on huge opportunities.

However, as the saying goes “better late than never”. If you have finally come to realize that you website could be more than just your ‘internet face’, its time you step ahead and invest more brainstorming and resources into it. What you need to do is:

  • Approach a reputed and professional business consultant who would help you analyze the shortcomings and suggest ways to make it more powerful
  • Contact a technology expert, possibly recommended by friends and colleagues who have been benefitted
  • Discuss the ideas of the business consultant, ask for their opinions and put in your ideas
  • Come up with a possible solutions and timeline for successful hosting of the business website
  • Probably, hire a marketing professional to revise your content and put in regular efforts in business campaigns
  • Coming up with new services and ‘things of value’ that is like to attract your customers/clients
  • Think about using social platforms linked to your website to build a steady stream of traffic
