I was recently asked "what are the top characteristics of a leader?"

Knowing how technology is evolving & disrupting our workplaces, there are 3 characteristics that will stand the test of times and be considered as the most important human capital to bank upon.

These characteristics are abilities that a leader can learn through mindful presence and conscious practice.

  1. Connector: A leader who can bring a multi-generational workforce together, align bright minds in the pursuit of excellence and bring out the best from everyone, will be someone who will be highly regarded and successful.
  2. Innovator: We've seen through folk tales and corporate stories that rigidity leads to downfall. A leader who can break dogmatism and bureaucracy, and encourage innovation through tech and processes can rise over the changing tides.
  3. Direction-setter: There are many floaters and myopic trend setters who not just confuse the system but harm the people and process in the long run. We need leaders who remain focused on what matters most, setting vision and guiding people across seasons of change.

Such a leader will be loved and respected as an inspiring and influential visionary.
