It's Okay To Change Your Mind
As we end the quarter, I have been thinking about all the goals that I set for myself at the start of the year. I have been pleased with the progress that I have made with my goals and within my accountability group*, we have identified key areas to double down in Q2 (April - June).
I have also been feeling some guilt. There was one goal, in particular, that had me feeling this way and it was one of my main goals for the year. I changed my mind. I no longer wanted to do it. I felt as though I had let people down because I had told people about it and I had even validated the idea with some of them. I had gotten as far as mapping out exactly how I was going to execute this goal and what the timelines were.
So why do I no longer want to do it?
I wrote about this in a blog post at the start of this year. I said:
"Your goals are only as good as the information you have. As your information changes, so should your goals".
That is exactly what happened. Throughout the 3 months, I realised that my priorities had shifted slightly and I could achieve the important parts of that goal in another way.

What happens when you change your mind?
✅ Ask yourself why you've changed your mind. Is the decision coming from a place of fear/anxiety or is it an informed decision that makes more sense to you?
✅ Assess whether this affects any other goals and put plans in place to mitigate this or change your other goals so that they are in line with your new priorities.
✅ Discuss your decision with someone you trust.
✅ Remember that when you're living audaciously, your main focus should always be on making decisions that allow you to live a life that YOU choose.
*Accountability group: a group of people that I trust to help keep me accountable to the goals I set myself. We meet regularly to assess the progress we are all making and discuss ways to support each other, improve or iterate accordingly.
