Journey of 2 Friends

Journey of 2 Friends

Impact of Sales in My Life...As a Career

2 Friends completed Engineering in 2016

They were in the same department (ECE)

One was good at conversation (call A)

Another was good at MATLAB (call B)

After 2016, They both didn't opt for jobs.

Instead, they were working on various ideas to turn into a successful business.

What happened to their friendship?

They were still good buddies.

Sometimes in a positive sense

& Sometimes in a neutral sense.

Hard Fact Learnt: Entrepreneurship doesn't allow you to make big decisions When you are a first-generation entrepreneur.

It happened with both the duo.

Still, they tried their best to make a business which makes money for them.

In 2019, B opted to start his corporate career

Because he understood the core beliefs of doing a business.

  • You just can't make your friend a Co-Founder of your company
  • You just can't expect results from day 1 and even from someone who is known to you from the last 4-7 years.
  • You just can't build a business out of some thoughts, brainstorming and mind juggling.
  • You just can't build a business because you think you are good at building a good IT or Electronic product.
  • You just can't build a business because you think you will sell your products anyway. (Fact: You don't know how to sell yet!!)
  • You just can't sell your products because you haven't studied other players in your domain and how you will differentiate yours from them.
  • You just can't continue to run your business with a long-term perspective because you are not providing value to your customers.

In 2017, A started a LED manufacturing business without taking B as his business partner because of some grave confusion.

When B started his corporate career, A was still producing and selling LED bulbs alone.

Do you think B would have advised A to add employees?

Of course, Yes.

Because they were still best buddies

But their definition of best buddies were changing with time.

2020, COVID came.

Fortunately, A's company name is Corona Industries.

And business went zero due to zero sales.

Then, delivery of raw materials stopped due to the lockdown.

B was still working in a corporate as a sales guy plus started writing a book on COVID Love Story since then.

In between, they were flirting with the Indian Stocks Market but B made more money from the learnings of A.

In 2022, A closed his shop.

B was still making slow progress in his sales career.

Fast forward to 2023, A is struggling to start a new business or job due to various internal and external reasons.

B has started building his digital brand as a Sales Expert since last year.

P.S., this is not a fictional post.
