This narrows down the results and organizes solutions by a website’s ranking.

How it works:

  • The user types in their mathematical equations on the search bar using the input keys. For example: 5x^3+3x^2+x+1 = 0.
  • Google displays its solution for the above cubic equation in a step-by-step explanatory format.
  • The Tech Giant’s query findings are categorized into sections, with the first being its very own simplified solution. Ultimately optimizing time for the users on the lookout for quick answers.
  • Furthermore, it also provides external links to reliable solution providers’ websites at the bottom of its column.

Simplifying Science

Apart from its massive help with advanced mathematical equations, Google’s recent innovation streamlines the pursuit of academic resources pertaining to complex physics word problems. Harnessing its advancements in its sophisticated language models, it allows users to delve into foundational high-school physics concepts with a focus on subjects like force, fluid mechanics, Newton’s laws of motion, and a promise on expanding solutions to higher-level university concepts in its future upgrades.

The Mechanism:

  • The user is prompted to type in the complete word problem in Google’s search bar.
  • As soon as the search icon is clicked, a summarized section on “How to Solve” is displayed with a link to related sub-topics for the users to read about if they require supplementary references.
  • Google’s Artificial intelligence breaks down the steps involved in the solution by initially deriving the known and unknown information provided within the question. This method of solving serves as an example for students to apply in similar problems.
  • Its intricate tools analyze challenging algorithms and help define the right formulas to be used in addition to further simplifying the overall procedure.

Visual Mastery with Google’s 3D Interactive Models

Beyond its impact in facilitating problem-solving in math and physics, Google’s advantages expand over STEM domains. Definitions and overviews on over 1000 topics including biology, astronomy, physics, and other related areas are clarified through Google’s integration of “interactive diagrams” and its new 3D models.

This aids students and researchers in attaining an in-depth visual proficiency in STEM disciplines. Google has taken the example of ‘understanding the workings of a Mitochondria’ to bring its point into sharp focus. Although most students can grasp the general understanding of mitochondria, with reference to a famous humorous meme on the same that states students can only retain the following statement from their years of science at school: “Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell”, it can significantly enhance your comprehension if you have the option to visualize the inner folds that form cristae or the matrix of its cellular structure that are within the inner membrane.

In essence, users can now freely interact with the 3D models representing such STEM theories. Google’s interactive diagram option allows users to click various parts of the illustration to expand or zoom in to have a deeper insight.
