Marketing is not only a department

Especially in saas companies and technology start-ups or scale-ups, most important budget needs for marketing.

They think they need more marketing activities for reach out more customers.

It can be easy for biggest scale-ups or enterprises to make bigger marketing activities or marketing budget.

But,

Small technology companies should understand marketing is not only a department or one position for making miracle things.

Every part of the technology company should also be a part of the marketing activities.

But how?

Managers and founders can share history, culture, agility of the company for followers and potential customers and new talents. And their vision can be more effective way to communicate with others. People like people stories. And they can share their personal stories and ways for entrepreneurships via social media posts and blogs.

Sales team can share new happy customer’s stories and benefits for new potential customers. Also they should be more visible in social media and social media groups actively. Joining the conversations and starting new topics can be more beneficial for finding a new leads.

Support team have more critical postion between company and the customers. They can generate happy customers and share this stories with potentials. Also they can create customer communities and every customer can help other customer. Good support system and structure make new potential inbound leads.

Other hand, you can have new upsell and cross sell opportunities from existing customers.

Developer team can communicate with eco system for inspiration. Customers can learn how the technical team strong and capable for the future needs and also developer team can learn from the market for the future of the products.

With social media and blogs, technical developers can be influencers for the potential buyers and also customers.

You can design much more examples like these.

But don’t think your marketing is another department. It should be a part of a dna of the company.
