Multi-Cloud Managed Kubernetes by emma

On Sunday Dec 1st, AWS announced the introduction of Hybrid Nodes for Amazon EKS. This enables AWS users to extend their EKS clusters by running nodes on external infrastructure, representing a significant advancement in hybrid cloud functionality.

At emma, we share the excitement around this development as it unlocks new possibilities for flexible deployments and integration scenarios—many of which we have already explored with our customers.

emma is a cloud management platform enabling its users to manage cloud resources like VMs in a cloud-agnostic way across all major cloud providers. With emma, from a single interface, users can choose the cloud providers that fit their technical, organizational and business needs.

True multi-cloud Kubernetes

emma provides a managed Kubernetes offering, which runs on top of a multi-cloud infrastructure and network so users can not only spin up clusters in any cloud but also span a single cluster across multiple clouds.

This capability enables a wide range of new use cases, freeing Kubernetes developers from vendor lock-in and allowing them to choose the cloud provider that best aligns with their strategic objectives.

Multi-cloud auto-scaling

Additionally, emma has the capability of multi-cloud cluster auto-scaling. Nodes can automatically scale up or down based on resource requirements, enabling teams to set up multi-cloud Kubernetes in a highly available and cost-effective manner. This empowers businesses to scale into cost-effective cloud providers, optimize their clusters with spot instances, and implement guardrails like price limits.
