My Favorite 37 Pieces of Content, Ever.

Mission & Vision

Before sharing my content recommendations, I’ve got to share my personal mission & vision, since a lot of the content that I consume aligns with helping me achieve them.

  • Mission: “Continuously overcome adversity and show others first-hand that they can achieve their goals too”.
  • Vision: Help 1M people from underrepresented groups achieve their goals by 2025

Background

The recommendations on the following page are based on my personal life experiences, hardships, and general interests.

For context, here are a few points about me

  • I come from a super humble Mexican-American family
  • I experienced significant trauma like losing my dad & uncle in my early teens
  • I am extremely entrepreneurial. From selling candy and chips in elementary school to starting my own companies in my 20’s
  • I’m infatuated with continuous growth, building things, and executing projects
  • I believe it’s essential to learn from our personal experiences but also through the stories and experiences of others whenever possible
  • I recently learned that I have ADHD and have trouble focusing in certain settings, environments, and work projects

Though these recommendations are specific to me, I often find myself sharing them with my closest friends and family to help them learn and grow as well.

“Favorite” defined as...

  • The content fulfilled one or more of the following...
  • They helped me get through a really tough life moment or period
  • I deeply resonated with the author’s research and/or their experiences
  • They taught me something or gave me something that I didn’t know before (for example, a point of view, context, or a way of thinking)
  • I have shared the content with at least one other person
  • I have re-read, re-listened to, and/or re-watched the content at least 3 times and will continue to re-consume them throughout my life as I grow through different stages
  • I would personally rate the content a 9 or 10 out of 10. There are hundreds of other pieces of great content that I have loved and learned from but fall slightly short when compared to these.
