New Award!!! (and other news...)
Hello friends! I cannot believe that it is the beginning of June already...this year has just flown right by. I guess that is what happens when you get to do what you love every day. 😊
Did you happen to notice that new shiny thing up top on our newsletter graphic? I was just notified that I have been listed as one of 2022's Top 3 Commercial Photographers! (Richmond, VA). I am so excited and honored to be recognized by my hometown this way.
Do you know what is just as wonderful? That I get to travel the country and do this for a living while enjoying my best life with my husband and supporting other entrepreneurs and business people to put their best foot forward through their branding photography sessions with me. This could be one of my famous headshot parties, a private session or a corporate session where we do headshots for a whole company or group of people within that company.
Speaking of doing what I love and am passionate about, a great deal of that involves being able to help people with their internal conflict around "Photoshoot Insecurity"...
There’s a very small segment of the population who actually love to have their picture taken. If someone pulls out a camera during a party, they’re the one shouting, “Take my picture!” while everyone else groans and turns the other way.
Trust me. I get it.

I used to fall into the groaner category too. I don’t hate it anymore as I figured out how to present my best self to the camera even on those days I’m not feeling my prettiest. I used to be super insecure about it. I was told there were all kinds of things wrong with my body as a kid. I adopted those messages and became very critical of myself in photos.
My biggest job as a photographer lies in helping my clients feel confident in front of my camera and making sure that that confidence shines through in the photos we take. If I can do that, we can capture an image that becomes a “First Impression Maker.” That’s a photo that makes people stop scrolling and pay attention because it’s such a great representation of who you are. If you trust me, I know I can help you get yours.
If you’ve been putting off getting professional headshots taken, I want to invite you to consider that all the negative things you see in photos of yourself, the rest of the world probably doesn’t see.
I want you to think about all the amazing things you have to offer and consider that focusing on that could make your next photoshoot an experience you’ll actually enjoy.
My most recent Mindset Workshop (I hold one workshop per month - rotating through 3 different topics), was called "Show up and Shine like a Rock Star". We had a great turn out and it was really interesting to see how people thought of themselves in pictures and then to see how they perked up when they realized that we all felt similar insecurities and then we learned some tips on how to show up as our best selves. Interested? I would love to invite you to the next workshop, it's free and there is no obligation ever. Keep an eye on my Events page, we'll be putting the next one up this week!
That's all for this time, please remember that this newsletter is new and I would be grateful if you would share it with some entrepreneurs whom you think could benefit from it, and please subscribe yourself!
