This Techmeetings included a panel discussion on the future of Smart Factory, a pitch session for startups, and 126 B2B meetings for large corporations to meet with startups.

« How is AI going to transform the way we work? Is AI a threat or an opportunity for workers » ? @Aymeric Petetin from GE Digital Foundry Europe moderated the panel discussion which included @Olivier Guezet from the Factory Booster PSA Groupe, @Serge Palaric from NVIDIA and @Alexandre Pelletier from CapHorn Invest.

People won’t be replaced by machines and AI will boost the collaboration between them. In a smart factory, AI can help control the quality of the product and improve the process through predictive maintenance. To collaborate with large corporations, startups have to come up with a clear value proposition on the pinpoint they are addressing. Then they should identify industrial partners to collaborate with. There are two major issues startups will have to deal with in the industry: the quality improvement (traceability) and the cost, as margins are usually quite low.

Some corporates have created an ecosystem of startups all around the world. In the Inception program launched by NVIDIA, there are today 2 000 startups focusing on AI (including 200 in France). NVIDIA’s objective is to develop partnerships and to introduce the startups to their customers. PSA Groupe has set up a Business Lab to work with the startup ecosystem. PSA Groupe also partners with VCs such as CapHorn Partners and ID Invest.

Among Fortune 500 corporations partnering with Paris Region Enterprises for this Techmeeting were Accenture, Airbus Ventures, CapHorn Invest, CISCO, DAHER, EDF, ENGIE, ERICSSON, GE Digital Europe Foundry, Groupe ADP, Groupe La Poste, Icade, Nvidia, Oracle, Panasonic Industry Europe, PSA Groupe, Safran Ventures, Sanofi, SAP France, Servier, SNCF, and TOTAL.
