Perception and Response to Failure

Perception and Response to Failure

In his book Failing Forward, my mentor, John C. Maxwell, talks about the difference between average people and achieving people, and it is, in large part, their perception of and response to failure.

This is a powerful thought.

He does not say that high achievers don’t make mistakes. In fact, they may make more of them than average.

But what does make the difference is perception and response.

Your perception and response to failure can…

  • DEFINE you or REFINE you.
  • DESTROY you or RESTORE you.
  • DISARM you or RE-EQUIP you.
  • DISSUADE you or REDIRECT you.

The power is not in the failure. The power lies within your thoughts and actions when failure comes.
