Perseverance is key to reaching new heights-finding success in TECH as a customer-led growth leader

Perseverance is key to reaching new heights.

I had the privilege to hop on the mic with Baddies Mean Business founders Rylie Jennings and Makenzie Hatfield , discussing how it feels to navigate the tech industry and develop a community as a young minority female leader.

Inspire, Transform, Empower
The UnapologeTECH Motto

I admit having to identify every day as black, female, and young used to be exhausting and nerve-racking. I have experienced firsthand how horrible someone can treat you in the tech industry because of the following three, but the tea today is to keep going and enjoy every aspect of who you are.

I guarantee you that accepting yourself early on in your career will set you up for success. Persevere despite the odds, enjoy and be grateful for who you are, and never apologize for being unapologetically yourself.

How do we persevere and continue to empower, inspire, and transform

6 Principles to live by as a woman who seeks stakeholder buy-in & inspires to live a fulfilling career and life

  1. Clearly write out your ideas
  2. Outline the execution process
  3. Outline the value points of your idea and vision
  4. Outline how this will make an impact to whom you are pitching.
  5. Remain stern on your ideas and values.
  6. Execute and stay consistent

As you navigate the tech industry, remember your skillset, your brilliance, and understanding what makes you different will set you up to reach incredible heights.

Normalize kicking imposter syndrome butt, embrace yourself, and carry on. We have exactly 38 days left in 2022. Focus on outlining whom you want to be next year and what you would like to accomplish.

In conclusion, this week's cup of tea is designed to share knowledge and provide community resources as we all continue to persevere in the tech industry. Space is limited! If you enjoy the material, please share! Enjoy the tea, and be sure to register for our AMA expert roundtable featuring an expert in HR to help you prepare for an epic 2023.
