The Power of Change: Driving Evolution and Progress Everywhere
Do you often think that something should change? That in work, society, or life, a shift is needed? This positive thought often remains just an idea, as we tend to wait for change to come from external sources.
But what if each of us took the initiative to bring improvements to every area we touch? Yes, even in our work activities.
The idea is to try to create a series of virtuous circles, generating positive feedback, for a concept of improvement that goes beyond the corporate level, aligning with Pieralisi’s Circular Thinking philosophy.
How to Become a Change Agent?
We’ve identified several areas where you can make improvements.
1. Change Agent in Your Specific Sector
At work we often think of change as creating a new production line or acquiring a company in another sector. Change can also be an evolution within your specific sector.
Our example? Technologically, much of Pieralisi’s activity revolves around centrifugal force. The first studies on it date back to the 17th century, yet we are still committed to interpreting it, using it optimally, and combining it with other control tools to serve many new sectors and contemporary needs.

2. Change Agent with Collaborators
For a company, its personnel is a valuable asset worth investing in. Here are three valid tips for collaborators in any sector: improve their skills and soft skills with continuous training; enhance their development through the study of aptitudes and results; communicate clearly with them and involve them in the objectives, even during challenging times. If you’re a freelancer, apply this reflection to yourself: you can invest in your education, seek external consultancy, and periodically assess your situation and goals. Exercise: Which of these three areas could bring the most positive changes to your situation?
3. Change Agent with Clients
In today’s competitive market, it’s essential to offer clients more than one reason to choose us. At Pieralisi, we strive not to take anything for granted by providing on-site consultancy, customized solutions, and support during commissioning and operation. Additionally, our service is organized to prevent possible disruptions or even machine downtime. The partner-like approach, rather than that of a supplier, also extends to after-sales.
Inspiration from the Future
Some changes deserve long-term commitment. For example, we have chosen to focus particular attention on clients who are starting olive oil production even in areas where this activity is still developing. We are not afraid to share our knowledge through expert consultancy: it’s an investment in the future of the area and - possibly - our client base.

4. Change Agent for the Community
No company is an island. In the areas that host us, we primarily focus on the younger generations—the true future of every community—by creating engagement activities for students: age-appropriate career orientation (high school visits or university meet-and-greets) and training and research projects with universities.
Exercise: In what way could you contribute to the community, thus improving your brand image?
5. Change Agent for the Environment
According to a 2023 study published by the Harvard Business Review, attention to sustainability is no longer an optional requirement for brand selection but is becoming a substantial demand. For Pieralisi, environmental protection starts at the design stage of new products, which are made to reduce raw material and energy consumption. However, every activity has aspects that can be improved in terms of its impact, such as finding a good balance between in-person and online meetings to reduce pollution and energy consumption related to travel.
Exercise: In your reality, are you doing everything possible to adopt and promote good sustainability practices?
6. Change Agent for tomorrow.
Some advancements may seem entirely altruistic, and precisely because of this, they actually hold great value as they plant seeds for a better future, even beyond our area of expertise. An example is language. Always adopting inclusive and respectful language—not just in presentations or advertising but in daily life—can be challenging but contributes to making the environment more favorable even for our own activities.
Exercise: Analyze your own language to identify potential areas for improvement.
