The excellent story of designing the LCMS-2050
The story of designing the LCMS-2050 is very exciting because Shimadzu focused the System Development Process on compactness of the system, and on providing high-speed and high-sensitivity analysis functions within the system. Liquid chromatograph (LC) users sometimes avoid using mass spectrometers (MS) because they tend to view them as large and complicated to operate and maintain. The LCMS-2050 high-performance liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer was developed in part with these LC users in mind. Therefore, it was critical for the LCMS-2050 to comfortably stack with Shimadzu LC Nexera series they are familiar with using.
