The science of adrenals - by Kristen Beck
So you may have heard of Adrenal Glands.
Your adrenals are little glands that sit just above your kidneys and try their absolute best to help you manage your stress levels (easier said than done) by producing hormones including cortisol, adrenalin and noradrenalin. Before and during perimenopause, looking after your adrenal system becomes even more important. That’s because, in addition to stress hormones, your adrenals also produce a form of oestrogen that, after menopause, becomes one of the only remaining sources of naturally produced oestrogen in your body.
Did you know that an imbalance in your adrenals can cause #weightgain, #fatigue, #highbloodpressure and #infection? All common symptoms we can experience in our 40's, and are often medicated for.
