A Self-Coaching Sample!
َ
َWhen a coach needs a coach!
Sometimes, we also need an emergency laser coaching session. Self-coaching is one way to help us.
If you google "self-coaching" this is usually the first result:
What Is Self-Coaching?
“Self-coaching is the process of guiding our growth and development, particularly through periods of transition, in both the professional and personal realms” (Batista, 2013)

Also, you may find this one:
Use of self is literally when a coach is a tool themselves within a coaching session – they are the instrument of change. It is a key part of developing a coach’s psychological mindedness and a way to advance coaching skills to a more advanced practitioner level. It refers to the coach using their own experience with the coachee as ‘data’ and communicating this to deepen the coachee’s awareness. (source)
If you are not familiar with it, I'm inviting you to google it or send me a direct message for more resources. You also can check the ICF website.
Today, I had to make a decision! So I started self-coaching and below you can find it!
I self-coached myself by writing the conversation on my phone's note, then as it was my first self-coaching in English, tried to edit the grammar and make it better visually.
Note: English is my second language if there is any mistake related to the language I'll be glad to have your feedback and learn from you.
I hope you find it useful.
Laser Self-Coaching Session:
Self-coach:
Hello, how are you?
Self-client:
Thanks, fine. As you know I need a laser coaching session urgently.
Self-coach:
Yes, what's up?
Self-client:
I want to know if should I accept to work with organizations as a coach?
Self-coach:
What happened that it becomes important to you now?
Self-client:
I received an organizational collaboration based on my past experiences. I should tell them if I am in or not!
Self-coach:
You mentioned the past, what does it mean to you?
Self-client:
This means that in the past I preferred to work with organizations but now prefer individuals.
Self-coach:
I heard, now you prefer to work with individuals, what else do you prefer?
Self-client:
I want to work with women but in this proposed collaboration the clients are all men!
Self-coach:
So you prefer to work with individual women, how do you feel about this offer that seems is not about what you prefer?
Self-client:
I feel the anger as I don't want to force myself again to do something I don't prefer! This new freedom is good for me, I like it.

Self-coach:
I heard your anger and also sadness in your voice is it right?
Self-client:
Aaah yes! (Deep breathing)
Self-coach:
Where did these feelings come from?
Self-client:
It comes from the past. I used to force myself to accept job offers because of social respect, more success, or money other than what seemed better for me! I won't let me do it again!
Self-coach:
It seems to do what is better for you and what you prefer to do is one of your new values, as we talked previously about your new you with your new set of values. Is it right?
Self-client:
Yes definitely! This time I live based on my values!
Self-coach:
So...
Self-client:
So I think I am not going to accept that offer! I don't want it and feel it deep in my heart!
Self-coach:
Congratulations 🎉 It seems you have found your answer. How does it feel now?
Self-client:
Free and light, seems there was a heavy thing in my heart and it's not there anymore! I am not going back to the past at any cost!
Self-coach:
Wow, great feeling! I feel you are more certain and your is voice more powerful!
Self-client:
(smiling) Yes!
Self-coach:
Now, what you are going to do?
Self-client:
I will text my colleague and reject the offer. Ohhh, I feel free again! Thank you my dear self-coach!
Self-coach:
You are welcome, darling.
Do you want me to do something or support you?
Self-client:
No, I am okay.
Self-coach:
Are you fine to end the session?
Self-client:
Yes absolutely. Have a nice day.
Self-coach:
Thanks, you too!
