“Since starting with Ideas on Stage, my confidence has skyrocketed.”

Katerina Guseva joined our coaching programme to refine her public speaking skills as she prepared for a big TEDx-style event at her company. Initially hesitant about stepping into the spotlight, Katerina embraced the programme's guidance, learning that being a good speaker isn't something you're born with — it's a skill you can develop.

We helped her speak clearly and focus on what's important. Since joining, Katerina has become much more confident and even got the chance to lead a panel discussion at work.

Her experience shows that anyone can become better at public speaking with the right support and effort.

Here's what she had to say about her experience working with us.

"Before working with Ideas on Stage, I faced quite a few challenges with public speaking. My main struggle was a lack of confidence, especially because English isn't my first language. I had fears about my accent, forgetting words and making mistakes in my speech, which fed into a belief that maybe I just wasn't meant for public speaking. The attention from an audience made me want to hide rather than shine.

I decided to join the Ideas on Stage programme because I wanted to break out of my shell. Both personally and professionally, I've been on a journey to become more comfortable with presenting myself to the world. I was also really excited about the opportunity to share my passion for my topic with others.

What surprised me most about the programme was how it debunked my misconceptions of public speaking as a natural-born talent. My coach showed me that effective speaking starts with clear content and understanding what you want to communicate. The programme was highly collaborative, which I loved. My coach respected my ideas and gently guided me, emphasising the importance of focusing on what truly matters – reminding me that if everything is important, then nothing is.

Since starting with Ideas on Stage, my confidence has skyrocketed.

I've noticed a change in how others perceive me too. Just this week, I was chosen to moderate a panel at work because my colleagues now see me as a pro speaker. This experience has been transformative, proving that nothing about us is set in stone and we can always learn and improve.

If you're unsure about joining the programme, I'd encourage you to take the leap. It's a fun and rewarding challenge, and your coach is there to support and guide you every step of the way."

This is amazing. Really felt the point on having all these things that make you want to hide rather then shine. Hiding can be quiet or it can be a loud defense! But learning for the true you to shine through is amazing. Very inspirational 🤗
