Google pitched its vision for AI, and it is everywhere
Google’s I/O 2024 event wasn’t just a tech showcase, it was a masterclass in social media engagement. Here’s how Google brought the excitement of I/O 2024 to our screens and made us feel like we were right there in the action 👇
During the live event, Google made their content feel accessible and inclusive across various content formats - Reels, carousels, Stories, and videos - catering to different audience preferences, whilst keeping engagement high.
After the event, Google posted a recap Reel and TikTok video titled “5 Things to Know from #GoogleIO 2024!” highlighting key takeaways in under a minute. To ensure no detail was missed, they followed up with an IG carousel post summarising the most important updates, allowing followers to swipe through and digest the highlights at their own pace.
But, it didn’t end there. The day after the event, Google posted a series of interactive Stories. These included quizzes about the speakers’ content, encouraging followers to engage and test their knowledge. An entertaining way to keep the conversation going and make the audience feel more connected to the event.
On X, a 10-minute long recap video sparked chatter, with fans pointing out how many times “AI” was mentioned. Even Elon Musk joined in on the banter, adding a layer of viral interaction.
