FIRST US SIN BEAMS PRODUCED AT NORTHSIDE SHOP
Steelcon is thrilled to announce a significant milestone for our US operations team. The Steelcon SIN Beam production line has been successfully installed at our Northside facility, marking the first-ever production of SIN Beams in the United States.
This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of our skilled team. From the initial planning and setup to the first batch rolling off the line, every step has been a success thanks to the commitment and expertise of everyone involved.
A big congratulations to our US Operations team and everyone who played a role in making this happen. Here's to many more milestones and continued success!
STEELCON'S COMMITMENT TO QUALITY SHINES DURING VIA RAIL PROJECT SHOP INSPECTION
Steelcon was pleased to host representatives from Buttcon, VIA Rail, and Peto MacCallum for a shop inspection of our Smith Street facility as part of the VIA Rail Toronto Maintenance Centre Modernization project.
Our team was thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase our dedication to quality, precision in fabrication, and our commitment to meeting and exceeding project requirements.
STEELCON NORTHSIDE SHOP SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES ANNUAL BUILDING FABRICATOR CERTIFICATION AUDIT
Congratulations to our US Operations team, who successfully completed our annual American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) recertification audit at our Georgia facility for our AISC Building Fabricator certification.
AISC certification ensures that Steelcon adheres to rigorous industry standards, demonstrating our commitment to quality, safety, and excellence in steel fabrication.
Please join us in congratulating everyone involved in this achievement.
DATA DRIVEN DECARBONIZATION
Steelcon understands that meaningful change starts with transparency and accountability - that’s why we invested in creating an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) - to provide transparent and verified information on the environmental impacts of SIN Beam.
Armed with the EPD as our foundation for change, now we’re leveraging that data to drive decarbonization decisions, such as prioritizing the use of raw materials with low embodied carbon, and we recently purchased our first shipment of low embodied carbon coil from North Star BlueScope Steel.
Less than six months after publishing our SIN Beam EPD, we’re now updating it with the new data. Spoiler alert: we're expecting ~40% embodied carbon reduction!
STEELCON EMPLOYEES RENEW COMMITMENT TO SAFETY CORE VALUES AND STRATEGIC SAFETY OBJECTIVES ON DAY OF MOURNING
On April 29, Steelcon employees at our shops and offices observed National Day of Mourning by pausing work to remember those who have lost their lives, suffered injury or illness on the job, or experienced a work-related tragedy. We also took the opportunity to collectively renew our commitment to Steelcon’s Safety Core Values and Strategic Safety Objectives.
THE POWER OF COLLABORATION IN SAFE AERIAL STEEL LIFTS
In this Steelcon Project Spotlight, lifting heavy steel members high into the air offered a unique chance for all project stakeholders to come together in navigating challenges with skill and precision, while prioritizing the safety of our workforce amidst potential hazards.
With a united team, there’s no limit to what can be accomplished – even when the sky’s the limit!
