Sustainability News

DATA DRIVEN DECARBONIZATION

Steelcon understands that meaningful change starts with transparency and accountability - that’s why we invested in creating an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) - to provide transparent and verified information on the environmental impacts of SIN Beam.

Armed with the EPD as our foundation for change, now we’re leveraging that data to drive decarbonization decisions, such as prioritizing the use of raw materials with low embodied carbon, and we recently purchased our first shipment of low embodied carbon coil from North Star BlueScope Steel.

Less than six months after publishing our SIN Beam EPD, we’re now updating it with the new data. Spoiler alert: we're expecting ~40% embodied carbon reduction!
