Stop Kicking. So You "Think" You Want To Work With A Career Coach

Rumblings and conversations within the community of career coaches have confirmed that it's the unofficial season of Tire Kickers.

Mind you, this is coming from coaches with pristine experience, spidy sensors, and decades of identifying their ideal target to save everyone both the prospect and themselves time.

Easy tells of "tire kickers" include:

❌ Not doing your research

❌ Focus is on cost vs. value

❌ An inability to make a decision -- be it coming from fear, analysis paralysis or straight up denial about their true level of urgency.

Let me put this into context.

The estimated market size of the Coaching Industry reached $15 billion in 2019 with a total of $7.5 billion worth market value in the US alone.

Predictions are for the market value to reach $20 billion by 2022 with a +6.7% average yearly growth rate from 2019 to 2022 -- and  according to PwC, the Coaching Industry was the second fastest growing sector in the world.

Sure, it's easy for someone to hang up a shingle so yes, you need to be careful. Like any industry there's good, better and best.

This applies to you to if you're serious, really serious about doing something about your career.

❌ Stop focusing on a one-time “cost of coaching.”

✅ Replace that with the dividends you'll reap for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

❌ You’re not paying a coach for their time.

✅ You’re investing an outcomes for yourself.

❌ Not committed to creating your future a priority, don't waste your time

✅ What you invest in is a direct reflection of your beliefs, priorities, and values. Then, DO whatever it takes.

❌ Those who aren't all in on themselves invest in distractions, escapes, or quick fixes. An apt analogy might be -- buying in a custom couch but believing it unthinkable to invest in a custom-made career.

And the hidden costs of inaction adds up. Here are just a few:

☹️ The cost of stalled growth potential & earning less than you deserve

☹️ The mental cost of exhaustion & feeling drained or apathetic.

☹️ The psychological cost of feeling undervalued or a lack confidence

☹️ The physical cost of sleep deprivation, stress, anxiety, and other health issues

☹️ The emotional termites that set into your personal relationships

Now, go ahead and multiply these costs x every day. You're bordering bankruptcy.

You know where to find me but if you're done kicking and screaming my cell is 312.912.4848.

This is an absolute gem! Yes, LoRen 🚀 gReiFf there is a range of readiness in a client... and I know you'd agree you need them to be ready for take-off. I think it's ok for someone to still be "kicking the tires," but be mindful of if you're *always* doing that. That's when you can say you're truly spinning your wheels and your losing so much time and money and satisfaction! It's literally the most fulfilling to be in the right career lane for yourself.

Organizations invest in talent development sparingly and it is not usually whole person coaching. Career development is the responsibility of the individual. It is very wise to have a fighter pilot like LoRen 🚀 gReiFf on the outside who sees it all when you are 1) at the top of your game 2) considering a change 3) and during a change..whatever that is. Catching a big fish, requires a big fish.
