Syria: humanitarian impact (Oct-Dec 2024)

New analysis on key trends & emerging challenges

Following the Hayat Tahrir Al Sham offensive against the Government of Syria and the fall of President Bashar Al Assad, we provide an overview of key trends and emerging challenges with the potential to affect humanitarian needs in the country. Mass displacement and population movements, new governance and humanitarian access, as well as the halt of crude oil imports from Iran, potentially leading to a large-scale fuel crisis, are key issues we monitor closely. This is the first quarterly publication from the Syria Area Based Analysis (SABA) project.

Additional SABA resources include the core dataset on the situation across Syrian districts, and the dashboard visualising key metrics from the dataset.
