Teaming Up to Tackle Your Sunday Scaries

Teaming Up to Tackle Your Sunday Scaries

Admittedly, this edition of the Sunday Scaries newsletter is of a more practical nature and isn’t nearly as fun as many of the recent ones. To be fair, not many stories can be as thrilling as being rescued from the desert!! 😵💫

However, I am very excited to remind you that we are two months away from the Second Annual Job Seeker Summit - woot woot!

As we celebrate the third year of National Career Coach Day, we’re empowering you to future-proof your career, as we bring together 20 of my dearest friends, coaches, and collaborators who are going to help you stand out, stay ahead, and navigate the next stage of your career with confidence. (Today’s photo features me with a few of our collaborators who I got to meet in person this weekend at a conference - more on that next week!)

The amazing JSS collaborators:

Diana Alt , Kathy Bailon, MA, CPRW, CPCC, CDCS , Kristina Drobocky Baitoo , Dustin Beasley, MBA, CPRW , Franklin Buchanan , Sara Plinska Camilo , Brent Chu , Kristin Dhayer, CRC, CVE, CPRW, CPCC, CDCS , Chazmon Flood , Lili Foggle , Diane Hudson, Director, CPCC program , Mark Misiano, MBA, CERW, CPCC, CPRW, CDCS , Gina Riley , George Sudarkoff , Ashley Watkins Thomas , Bogdan Zlatkov 👈 , Andrea Yacub Macek

Here’s why joining us on January 8th is a decision your future self will thank you for - and they might just make this week a little bit better too!!

1. Insider Expertise, No Filter

Since I am known for my never-ending opinions about everything, I tend do surround myself with others who do the same, which is why The Job Seeker Summit is your backstage pass to resume, job search, and interview tips that actually work.

There is ton of advice out there in the career and job search world. A lot of it is solid, and a lot of it is crap (free and paid), so validate your sources.

Newsflash: I can tell you this a group of trustworthy people with accurate advice, so buy in and remove the rest of the noise from your world.

2. Ask the Experts Anything

Google and ChatGPT can answer a lot of questions, but that just doesn’t take the place of a live Q&A with advice with a real human, so queue up your burning questions.

We’ve got three opinion-packed panels (say that three times fast) planned, focused on Resumes, Job Search Strategy, and Interviewing.

3. Future-Proof Your Skills

Job searching and the labor market have changed significantly in the past two years, and while we can’t predict the future, there are things we can do to position ourselves to weather the changes, remain nimble, and stay relevant.

This event is only about helping you land your next job; it’s about arming you with tools and strategies to keep you ahead of the curve in your next move and into the future. 🛠️

4. Interactive Breakouts to Deepen Your Skills

There’s nothing quite like diving into a topic with a small group, especially when it’s led by experts who know their stuff. These interactive breakout sessions will explore essential resume and job search sub-topics, like how to handle career changes, what to do with LinkedIn, and how to navigate an informational interview.

👀 Keep an eye out for details on all the deep dives we’ll be offering; you may just be able to get face time with your favorite coach.

5. Networking with Intention

Networking can be overwhelming, but at the Job Seeker Summit, it’s simple and meaningful. This event connects you to a network of industry experts and peers who are on similar journeys, and having support through your search can be a powerful thing.

Whether you’re looking for guidance, new industry contacts, or just a bit of solidarity, you’ll expand your network in ways that make future opportunities feel more accessible and exciting.

6. Stay Ahead of Market Trends

“Can I use ChatGPT to write my resume?”

“What do I do with this one-way video interview?”

“Is this a legit job posting?”

There are so many questions in the market today, and this group of professionals comes armed with data, observations, and real-world experience to make sense of the - well, madness

7. Level Up on Your Terms

At the end of the day, the Job Seeker Summit is all about you.

We’ve taken your feedback to design an event focused on the tools you want and need to take control of your career path, whether that means pivoting to a new role, transitioning industries, or getting to the next level.

It is the greatest exhibition of collaboration in the career coaching space, and you don’t want to miss it!

➡️ Register today: it’ll make your week better knowing you took one step towards a brighter career future.
