I’m too busy and already have too much on as it is, just getting the end of the week is a win for me…”
It’s Friday already and the weeks been a blur. Before you know it none of the things you said you would have been done.
Except for all the things you do for others, obviously.
It feels like everybody knows when you are free and as soon as you do put some time to one side to get some exercise done yet another job lands on your desk.
The phone doesn’t stop either and the emails mount up… There’s just no end to it!
With no light at the end of the tunnel it feels like you are being pulled from pillar to post.
Sure, everybody around you knows that you are good at what you do but that only means they expect even more from you.
You get an email to have a large piece of work done that normally takes a few days and they expect it done in a couple of hours… This is beyond the joke now!
No wonder when you finish work you feel like you’ve been in the boxing ring with Mike Tyson… Head banging from all the tension.
When your Mrs speaks you have to fight the urge to switch off and stop listening… You don’t have the time for this as well!!
A beer will help calm the nerves and settle the mind… Something to numb the senses after another hard day.
You push all the family stuff to one side for the weekend and when it comes you are exhausted from the week. Its soul destroying but you do it for the family.
They have everything they need and all the things you didn’t had but they don’t have the one thing they want… A happy dad.
They don’t see you as much as you want and when they do you are on your phone.
From the outside it is clear to see that this is how things start to fall apart, people grow apart, and we look back with regret that we didn’t do what we really wanted and needed to do.
“Next Monday, Next Monday, next Monday…” making excuses and beating yourself up is so tiring.
Constantly telling yourself that “This isn’t good enough…”
That you aren’t good enough… What’s the point?
“If only I could get everything back on track and stick to it”
They way things used to be when you were lighter, felt good about yourself and everything was so much easier.
It’s not just improving the food and the exercise either. It’s the routine, energy and drive you want back… All the hard work would be worthwhile then.
The work pressures, long hours, deadlines, and targets. “Bring it on” you would say… Instead of waiting for the next thing to go wrong.
At your best you can do anything you want, nothing is a chore. In fact you work better. You have more energy and get stuff done.
No more second guessing yourself and feeling anxious.
That’s we’re we need to be!
Better structure, more control, more success… That’s the goal.
