TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERS AND SOCIAL JUSTICE LEGENDS CONVENE VIRTUALLY AT THE 4TH ANNUAL GEORGE FLOYD MEMORIAL LECTURE IN TORONTO, CANADA
We are thrilled to announce the 4th Annual George Floyd Memorial Lecture, an exceptional virtual event dedicated to advocating for social justice, equity, and inclusion.
Scheduled for Thursday, May 23, 2024, this all-day event will bring together transformational leaders and social justice legends from around the world to educate, inspire, and empower individuals from all walks of life.
Hosted by the International School of Greatness (ISG) and the Canadian Congress on Inclusive Diversity and Workplace Equity, in partnership with the Diversity Institute at Toronto Metropolitan University, this event aims to provide a global platform for dialogue and action. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from and engage with some of the most influential voices in the field of social justice.
This year's event features an impressive lineup of speakers and some of our prolific speakers include the following:
1. Hon. (Dr.) Jean Augustine, P.C., C.M., O. Ont.: Founder of the Jean Augustine Centre for Girls & Young Women; the first Black woman in the Parliament of Canada; former National President of the Congress of Black Women of Canada.
2. Senator Wanda Thomas Bernard, PhD, C.M., O.N.S.: The first African Nova Scotian woman appointed to the Senate of Canada; Deputy Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights; Founding member of the Association of Black Social Workers (ABSW).
3. Ray Williams: Chair & Co-Founder of the Black Opportunity Fund; Former Vice Chairman of National Bank Financial Market; Housing Affordability Convener; Champion of Change & Board Director.
4. Richard Pinnock: Director, Chief Diversity Officer at Export Development Canada; Former Sr. Manager, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Wal-Mart Canada.

The murder of George Floyd in May 2020 was a watershed moment that sparked a global outcry against systemic racism and police brutality. The subsequent protests and calls for justice underscored the urgent need for meaningful reforms in our workplaces, governments, schools, communities, and places of play and worship. As we reflect on the progress made over the past four years, it is clear that while strides have been taken, much work remains.
