The uncertainty

The uncertainty

The Covid-19 pandemic has completely changed our lives. The lock-down has brought drastic changes to our mobility in term of space and time. Many managers lost track of time. Their time perception had been altered. They feel of being caught in the present and unable to plan even for few weeks.

Those mangers don’t know when their employees will go back to work – or indeed if they will keep or not their jobs.

In the heart of this crisis, rapid technological and economic change, there is one certainty facing leaders is UNCERTAINTY where it is hard to imagine a future that looks different than the present.

The business environment for many firms is changing rapidly and is becoming increasingly uncertain due to the disruption caused by the pandemic, by new digital technologies, deregulation, new business models, and the threat of new competitive entrants.

If we focus on the pandemic, it increases the level of uncertainty for managers who bear responsibility for the strategic development of the firm, particularly in terms of the future. Although, the existing management models no longer address the challenges that the crisis presents.

Those management models have to be adapted in term of direction, scope, and the strategy to deliver on corporate objectives.

If we analyze the general impacts of the pandemic, it’s very certain that a few percentages of managers have full vision on how business initiatives rolled out in 2022.

In the opposite, the majority of managers are acting without a comprehensive vision of how and why changes are being made.

This uncertainty is impacting our mental well-being and even our decision-making.

How to deal with uncertainty?

Uncertainty is a big issue!

It can be scary and lead to anxiety and stress. Nevertheless, managers have to deal with it positively and reevaluate all processes and business models

So how can you deal with uncertainty positively?

The managers have to be prepared to deal with uncertain situations where everything is possible. They must have a backup plan and prepared for every possible outcome to reduce the stress and anxiety.

When the stress come from unexpected, the best thing for the managers is to accept that change and try to bring in some positivity in uncertain situations.

In crisis and uncertain times managers shouldn’t over thinking is one of the most common problems in humans. They should embrace the fact that they should think simply to deal with uncertainty more effectively.

Uncertainty has certainly affected the way corporate are operating.

In the Covid-19 era, managers should have the ability to predict trends in order to survive, to grow and prosper.
