An Update on Our Commitment to India

An Update on Our Commitment to India

The humanitarian crisis in India continues to take a significant toll on the Indian healthcare system – especially as it relates to a dire shortage of beds and medical oxygen.

As an update to my last post, I want to start by thanking Cognizant associates from around the world who are supporting their colleagues and friends in India with both thoughts and actions. This commitment to each other gives us hope that we will eventually defeat this pandemic together.

That said, the next two weeks will be critical, with many cities expected to hit their peaks. As always, the health and safety of our associates and their families remains our top concern. We are all inspired by their collective strength in the face of adversity.

Update on Cognizant’s Support Efforts

Since announcing our Operation C3 Cognizant Combats COVID-19 – relief initiative, we have continued to mobilize resources in support of our associates and their communities while improving access to care.

Today, we continue to work urgently to expand options for hospital beds, oxygen supplies, and isolation centers across India. We also are working with our partners to support 800 COVID beds across eight cities in India that will support communities in need. This includes a 100-bed pediatric ICU for COVID-infected children and an oxygen-storage plant that will support 300 COVID beds.

Meanwhile, we’re also working to expand COVID protection to as many people as possible by helping to increase access to vaccinations. As a part of this effort, we’re working with multiple partners to set up vaccination centers inside Cognizant facilities across the country – many of which will be supported by Cognizant associates, who choose to serve despite their own challenges. We cannot thank them enough for their commitment to service in their communities.

As testament to the incredible partnership we’ve developed with our clients, many have reached out to see how they can help support our teams in India. We are grateful for their kind thoughts and efforts, and are exploring ways to ensure this generosity reaches impacted communities.

India and our people here represent so much of what makes Cognizant strong. Thank you again to our associates and partners for their ongoing concern and support as we weather this storm together.

Sorry but my experience was not good even though Cognizant is doing so much for their associates.
