Vacancy-Business Development Manager/Executive in Penang Branch, Malaysia

Primarily responsible for identifying and developing Penang/ North Malaysia and assigned territories freight, logistics, project and shipping business and for the efficient, effective, economical management of all Sales & Operational related activities. Work closely with Branch Manager and all other sales resources in GAC Malaysia for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies to widen GAC presence within the Malaysian Market.

Scope of Duties

Business Development (North Malaysia)

1. Target and secure new customers.

2. Develop new business opportunities with existing clients.

3. Promptly send quotations to clients and maintain a very close follow up on all quotations sent out.

4. Actively pass- on sales leads to sales teams within GAC Malaysia and overseas GAC Companies and agents. Similarly try to capitalise on all sales leads and convert them into business.

5. Prepare Weekly Sales Plan and submit to Branch Manager. Also enter details of visit in GAC Sales system

6. Liaise with client and Customer Service team to ensure service standards defined within the contract scope of work are met or exceeded with regular review periods

7. Develop and maintain excellent contacts with client, client vendors, principals, airport, seaport, customs, government authorities and sub-contractors.

8. Ensure that credit approvals are in place for all credit clients handled by sales team. Assist Finance department in maintaining the receivables from credit accounts within agreed terms.

9. Work closely with Branch Manager and all other sales resources in GAC Malaysia for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies to widen GAC Logistics presence within the Malaysian Market. Actively send out sales lead and also encourage team members to regularly and consistently exchange sales leads.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required

·     Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

·    Minimum of five years experience in air / sea / road forwarding services.

·     Ability to set measurable targets; make plans to progress to their fruition and report feedback within the time frames provided.

·     Ability to conduct Business Analysis and identify trends and make projections.

·     Computer Literacy in windows environment. Software knowledge of Microsoft office – Word- Excel – PowerPoint.

·     Malaysian Driving License

·     Be able to act rationally under pressure and have the ability to handle difficult situations precisely and calmly.
