We believe in the dreams and reality

The question is “are dreams the reality and is the reality our dreams.” It has been a topic of discussion going back centuries. Many respected philosophers queried the same question, Plato, Socrates, Aristotle. It makes our dreams extremely real and vivid… I have numerous times experienced the waking senses of touch, taste, feel, and smell in my lucid dreams and dream hallucinations. When you don’t know what is going on (that you have a sleep disorder) you ask the question yourself… “Am I awake or dreaming?” Only you also question your sanity. That is why I began to research the possibility of if dreams are the reality.

I first ran across Rene Descartes dream argument. He theorized that being awake has the same content as dreaming. That dreamers have frequently been confused into believing they are having a waking experience while they were actually dreaming. He went on to argue that one can’t really prove that they are not dreaming. We can believe our senses are telling us we are awake but then question if we can trust or senses? Can our senses fool us? Could our senses fail us? Certainly, they can it happens all the time.

I admit it is intriguing, and it relieved me some that others had the same curious question as I did from my personal dream experiences. Equally as interesting is that Neuroscientists figured out that our dreaming reveals the same brain patterns as does our conscious life (waking life). Dreaming and being awake are identical neurologically speaking. It definitely gives you a lot to consider and even debates the definition of reality itself.

So now where do I stand with all this… lol it's a lot of thinking. I don’t know that it matters to me so much anymore. If I had to make a choice between the two worlds, I would pick the one that my husband, children, grandchildren, and pets were in most frequently rather that is the dream or the reality, or the reality is the dream doesn’t really have merit as long as I can be with them.

I think that reality and dreams are complementary. The basic property of reality is that it can’t change, which means we will face it no matter how good or bad it is. So for me, I find dreaming as one way to relief the stress caused by daily shocking reality, it even sometimes acts as a motive to keep moving on against the negative things that happen, so dreaming about what I want to do, get, or change drives me to work harder and endure more in order to be able to achieve what I have dreamt of.

On the other hand, reality nourishes my dreams with the different experiences it provides me with, so that I become able to expand the limits of my dreams and make them seem more achievable. In short : I dream to enhance my reality, and the experiences of shape my dreams. Reality is what exists in the physical world. Consciousness of existing phenomena and objects depends on employing the 5 senses. Reality is governed by the laws of physics by the constrains of time& space.

Dreams belong to the Subconsciousness. The 5 sense organs do not operate during dreams. We may dream of smelling a rose but the smell is not real, not physical, does not come through the nose - but is created by the memories we have in the Subconsciousness. Dreams do not obey the laws of reality, nature, or time and space. Nonetheless, all elements of dreams come from objects or relationships we experienced in the physical world. For ex. we may see our body in a dream flying over a street: all components of body, flight and street - originate from previous perception of reality, but the combination does not follow the laws of time and space.

But there may be some deep meaning conveyed in dreams, for example if we feel the need for freedom to go from a place to another without hindrance, or the need to monitor the path of our way in life, then a dream of flying over a road can express that desire. I have just recently had this worry after a bad trip, as well as my dreams becoming more vivid and realistic. Spent around three days with anxiety all day. My mind wouldn’t shut off. I would think about my past life and then a second later what it will do to me . But I destroyed all of this anxiety and worry with logic; a single thought.

If the people in your life are a “dream”, and are “thoughts”, do a test with a family or friend. Think of something, anything, and ask them to try and read your mind. They won’t guess it, without fail. That’s because your thoughts and your life are completely separate. If you were in your dream and you pictured wanting to fly, you could. Ever heard of lucid dreaming? When you’re aware that you’re in a dream, you can take control and do things you wouldn’t normally do, like fly or teleport. You can’t do that in real life.

You're just overthinking. I’m going through the same thing and just started recovering from it, it’ll probably take a few weeks or so for it to completely go away so you can start living life like normal. Anxiety can be scary, and it looks like you’re just having an anxious episode. If these thoughts persist for over a month, however, I’d seek medical help or talk to a therapist.
