Are you ready for Saturday?

Are you ready for Saturday?

Saturday 26th October -The New UK Preventative Duty on Sexual Harassment becomes operational.

Many of our training courses and newsletters have profiled the new duty on employers -irrespective of size – to anticipate and prevent sexual harassment.

 Three questions: -

1.      Have the potential risk areas – at least nine -been risk assessed by your company or organisation?

2.      Have you decided to integrate the anticipatory and preventative duty with your existing equality, diversity and inclusion policies?

3.      And have you made sure that any third parties (customers/clients etc.) know about the behaviour you will expect from them AND the reciprocal respect they will receive from your staff?

If so, does your policy either running alongside existing equality policies or standing alone include: -

  • Ongoing visibility
  • Risk Assessment Procedures
  • Effective monitoring and review
  • Training and updates
  • Clear guidance for managers and supervisors
  • Advice to victims on how to cope
  • Clear reporting mechanisms
  • Signposts to external sources of advice and support
  • Cross referencing to disciplinary & grievance policy and EDI if standing alone
  • Clarity on sanctions and possible outcomes
  • Support for witnesses
  • Support for victims
  • Third Parties -Customers/Service Users/Stakeholders

Get in touch if you need training or policy support before or after Saturday

Anyone with even a cursory knowledge of mythology knows that sexual harassment of a goddess is suicide. Just look at what Artemis did to a guy who came across her while bathing. But it also works the other way, girls, and women are given full assistance, that's good. But what about the men?
