Leading Responsibly is one of our core values at Apollo Global Management, Inc., with many of our employees supporting the greater community by serving on non-profit boards. Nick Doering-Dorival, Partner in Real Estate at Apollo, serves on the Oliver Scholars Board of Directors. Oliver Scholars is an organization dedicated to preparing high-potential students from underserved NYC communities for success at top independent high schools and colleges. As an alumnus of Oliver Scholars, Nick’s favorite part of serving on the board is seeing scholars grow from 7th graders into confident and ambitious young adults. For those interested in nonprofit board service, Nick recommends choosing a cause that genuinely excites you—it's often surprising how many people in your network are eager to support a cause that matters to you.

Leading Responsibly is one of our core values at Apollo Global Management, Inc., with many of our employees supporting the greater community by serving on non-profit boards. Akila Grewal, CFA, Partner, Global Head of Credit Product, serves on the New York City Board of Directors for Braven. Braven, an Apollo Opportunity Foundation grantee since 2022, is committed to empower promising, underrepresented young people with the skills, confidence, experiences and networks necessary to transition from college to strong first jobs. Akila had the honor of delivering the opening remarks at the Braven Summit, an event which reinforced her belief in the importance of creating pathways to success for individuals who have been historically underrepresented. For those interested in non-profit board service, Akila recommends reaching out to organizations to express interest, as they value diverse perspectives and are eager to welcome new voices. Akila feels fulfilled by collaborating with passionate individuals who are dedicated to making a difference at Braven, and by contributing her skills and insights toward advancing a shared mission.

Leading Responsibly is one of our core values at Apollo Global Management, Inc., with many of our employees supporting the greater community by serving on non-profit boards. Matthew Breitfelder, Partner and Global Head of Human Capital at Apollo, serves on the Board of Lumina Foundation, an organization dedicated to ensuring access to quality education for all Americans through innovative initiatives. Lumina Foundation’s mission resonates deeply with Matt, as his parents were the first people in his family to attend college, and he saw the transformational benefits that higher education provides. Matt encourages his colleagues at Apollo to serve on non-profit boards to leverage their strengths, create a positive social impact, and develop their leadership skills.
