  • How do you get Silicon Valley techies and suited bureaucrats to work together? For Nandan Nilekani, co-founder of Infosys and the visionary behind Aadhaar, it was making a public promise that seemed impossible. As chairman of the Unique Identification Authority of India, Nilekani spearheaded the creation of Aadhaar, the world’s largest biometric ID system. “Within a month of joining, I said, ‘We will achieve 600 million unique IDs by the time I step down,’ and people thought I was crazy. In government, you don’t make commitments like that. It sounded outrageous and implausible," Nilekani said. But this goal galvanized his team, and everyone came together to make it happen. Today, Aadhaar has reached over 1.3 billion people in India. How do you motivate your team? Share your thoughts in the comments below! • Who has enough time for a side hustle? About 31% of U.S. employees are balancing a side hustle or project alongside their primary jobs — whether that’s part-time work like consulting, making deliveries, managing rental properties or something else. But remote employees are more likely to have a side job that provides extra income than either their mostly onsite or hybrid peers, according to the latest findings of LinkedIn’s Workforce Confidence survey. Over one-third of remote employees (34%) said they have at least one side hustle, compared to just 29% of hybrid workers and 29% of onsite workers. One reason could be that workers who commute to their jobs simply have less time. What’s more, workers employed full time are less likely to also be juggling a side hustle; one quarter of full-time employees said they have a side gig, compared to 46% of self-employed workers, 46% of contractors and 52% of freelancers. If you’ve ever taken on a side project or gig outside of work, how did you make it worth your time? And if not, why haven’t you? Weigh in below. ✍️: Rachel Cromidas 📊: Allie Lewis, Bud Rashidian
