Adding more capacity to the neighborhood, this EOS M290 has found a new home at Metal Powder Works. The addition of this system will enable the rapid development of new materials, and enhance the co-located ecosystem happening at Neighborhood 91. This type of expansion is made possible through the Resilient Manufacturing Ecosystem program that is working to develop hard to source AM parts for defense applications. Our production facility at Neighborhood 91 continues to mature as we add three EOS M290 printers, one Haas Automation, Inc. TL-2 lathe, and new finishing equipment (yet to be unpacked)! This diverse range of machines allows us to run multiple materials at once, empowering us to take on even more complex projects across industry. In what is quickly becoming a fall tradition, the Neighborhood 91 Block Party featured beautiful weather and some special guests! It was an honor to host commanders with the 171st squadron, Colonels Figley and Schillo. They were also joined by Ben Hoffner from Congressman Chris Deluzio's staff. These partners have been highly supportive of the innovation happening on campus, with the airwing looking at projects to identify and produce replacement parts for legacy aircraft. Colonels Figley & Schillo are also the honorary commander partners of The Barnes Global Advisors John Barnes and Andy Davis respectively. The Honorary Commanders program is designed to connect the community to our military and the neighborhood is well represented with John and Andy. Speaking of connecting - we couldn't have a block party without including a photo op with a passenger jet over the campus - courtesy of our founding neighbor at Pittsburgh International Airport.
