Across Spain, severe flooding caused by unprecedented rainfall is having a devastating impact on communities. With operations in areas that have been affected by these ongoing floods, PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation are committed to supporting our associates and impacted communities. By partnering with local and national organizations in Spain we are supporting relief efforts by distributing over 100,000 liters of Aquafina water from PepsiCo and a $300,000 donation from the PepsiCo Foundation to disaster relief and humanitarian organizations including World Central Kitchen, Federación Española de Bancos de Alimentos (FESBAL), Fundación Ayuda Una Familia, and Cruz Roja Española. We know that the power of community can help lift those impacted by these disasters. You can help by supporting the partners listed above, and PepsiCo associates can donate through our One Smile at a Time platform. This week, our very own Andrea Moribe had the opportunity to participate in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation Business Solves Conference in Washington, D.C. as part of a discussion that focused on launching a social enterprise within a corporation. As the U.S. lead for our PepsiCo Foundation Food for Good program, Andrea shared her knowledge of Food for Good, past and present, and emphasized the importance of listening to your community stakeholders and leaders when identifying the purpose of your enterprise. Bringing together the totality of human innovation, skill and resources within our PepsiCo network, Food for Good has been able to thrive and support children in underserved communities for the last 15 years. We’re proud of the amazing work Andrea and the team are doing to support our communities!

With her family’s medical and financial needs becoming increasingly difficult to manage, Araceli needed a new means to a stable income. She received funding, mentoring and training through the PepsiCo Foundation-funded BAMX Puebla Employability Program and with this experience, started a pumpkin seeds snacks business. By sourcing her ingredients locally, she is giving back to her community while providing longer-term stability for her family. On #WorldFoodDay we celebrate our Food for Good team, including Pedro Garcia and all those who tirelessly fight hunger, making a difference communities around the world. Learn more about Pedro's story here: https://lnkd.in/gkEgmegZ
On this World Food Day, I’m reflecting on the PepsiCo Foundation’s mission to provide equitable access to nutritious food, and the many ways we unlock that access in our communities around the globe. I'm particularly proud of the efforts of our PepsiCo Foundation employees, including one who has been with us since Food for Good was created 15 years ago. Since 2009, Pedro Garcia has gone beyond just delivering meals — he’s been a lifeline to underserved families, ensuring they have access to nutritious food when it’s needed most. Over the past 15 years, Pedro has been part of the PepsiCo Foundation’s Food for Good U.S. team, helping Food for Good deliver more than 75 million meals since 2009. And with 5.3 million meals delivered to over 150,000 children across the United States in 2023 alone, Pedro and the Food for Good team are bringing hope to countless communities. On #WorldFoodDay, we celebrate Pedro and all those who are making a real difference in the lives of families around the world. For them, this is more than a job, it’s a mission. Today as we recognize International Day of Rural Women, we know that while women account for nearly half of all agriculture labor in developing countries, they do so often without training, proper tools, and even rights to their land. That’s why the PepsiCo Foundation is focused on supporting work to address gender inequality in agriculture. Through our partnership with CARE, She Feeds the World has been active in Uganda, Egypt, Peru, Colombia, Vietnam, Thailand and Pakistan to provide resources and training to 5 million women farmers and members of their communities to help increase crop yields and income. And today, we're proud to announce that She Feeds the World has launched in Türkiye. Through the program launch, we aim to support and empower small-scale women producers and farmers in Adana, increase food sustainability and improve livelihoods. While 450 women farmers and producers are expected to benefit from project grants, we aim to provide more than 35,000 women producers and farmers with direct access to trainings. We’re also thrilled that the incredible work being done around the globe through She Feeds the World was recently honored with the Ragan Communications and PR Daily CSR & Diversity Award for “Best Global ESG & CSR Initiative” and the Global Good Awards “Community Partnership of the Year – Silver.” Congratulations to our She Feeds the World teams and partners, we’re so proud of the work being done to help support women throughout our communities!

PepsiCo Foundation reposted this
Since Hurricane Helene made landfall last week, PepsiCo and the PepsiCo Foundation have been in close contact with on-the-ground nonprofit partners and employees to assess how we can best support those impacted in our communities. We put community at the center of all we do, and we have the privilege to be in a position to help. We’re working closely with thousands of associates, bottling partners and local suppliers in the region to help ensure they are safe and have access to resources that support their immediate and long-term recovery. And we’re proud to support relief efforts by donating to The Salvation Army, World Central Kitchen, Team Rubicon and other local nonprofits as they work tirelessly to support the communities we live and work in. Our donations include sending 50,000 meals through our PepsiCo Foundation Food for Good program to the Salvation Army and other local nonprofits in North Carolina. PepsiCo is also working to donate truckloads of water to the relief effort, and our PepsiCo Foods North America team is leading a drive to gather essential supplies like non-perishable food, toiletries, clothes and blankets. Thank you to all our local employees who are stepping up to support their colleagues and neighbors in need. We’re keeping everyone impacted by Hurricane Helene in our thoughts and will continue our support of communities across the region. https://lnkd.in/epB4Zwhy
