Per Scholas Greater Boston IT Support learners recently started their Break/Fix labs 🔧 Learning how to disassemble and reassemble desktop computers, 💻 make ethernet cables, set up a LAN, and more 🛜. On Friday night, members of the Per Scholas Greater Boston Team had the honor of attending GreenLight Fund’s 20th Anniversary Emerald Evening Gala, celebrating two decades of transformative impact and community-driven innovation in Greater Boston and beyond. The energy in the room was inspiring as we reflected on GreenLight Fund’s journey of identifying and addressing critical needs in Boston and in communities across the country. No learner has ever had to pay for any aspect of training at Per Scholas, and every donation makes an impact towards ensuring that no learner ever will. 👨🏽💻 Please join us at Per Scholas Greater Boston in welcoming 22 new #ITSupport Technologists to their training program. 👩🏽💻 Fresh off the Thanksgiving holiday, we brought the energy to Day 1. Kick off is about forming connections, setting expectations, and getting into learning mode. As recent Per Scholas alum Evisa Nano shared with the class "Think of today as if you started a new job." Over the next 13 weeks, these technologists will train through hands-on experiences managing and troubleshooting enterprise IT systems, working directly with servers, routers, switches, and desktop technologies, and gaining the skills to confidently resolve hardware, networking, and software issues. They will also participate in comprehensive professional development training, ensuring they have the hard and soft skills required to be successful IT Technicians and System Administrators. "I learned to trust the process, but I also learned to trust myself in the process." Evisa shared with the new cohort. In observance of Thanksgiving, Per Scholas will be closed on Thursday, November 28th and Friday, November 29th. We are #grateful for our community of learners, alumni, staff, and partners.
