Clean water and hygiene can transform the lives of children. This #GivingTuesday support UNICEF USA in ensuring children like Madina and her classmates have access to safe water, hygiene, and sanitation. In Mazar-i-Sharīf, Balkh Province, Afghanistan, UNICEF has constructed latrines and handwashing facilities in schools with pumps powered by solar energy. Together with partners, UNICEF educates children about the importance of personal hygiene. Now, 11 year old Madina and her friends have access to their own bathrooms with clean water. “I feel so safe coming to school now. We have our own bathrooms for girls so we don’t have to share with the boys,” says Madina. As the world gathers for #COP29, please know that every single one of us can take part in helping UNICEF shape a sustainable future for every child! As a UNICEF NextGen Global Principal, I’m excited to share that we have chosen the Today & Tomorrow Initiative as a central focus of our efforts. This flagship project, introduced at #COP27, tackles both urgent climate resilience and long-term protection for vulnerable children worldwide. It blends essential aid—such as emergency supplies and climate-adaptive infrastructure—with an innovative parametric insurance model designed to swiftly address future climate crises. Children are able to shelter in purpose built schools during the inevitable cyclones. Afterwards they can go back to school and normality with much more ease. We as Principals have committed to supporting this project collectively, and are willing to match donations. Our efforts will help communities strengthen their preparedness while accelerating recovery and reducing prolonged hardships. This dual approach saves lives now and significantly cuts future recovery costs. Please help us make a lasting difference. I invite you to learn more by messaging me for details and information on supporting this vital effort. Deputy Executive Director, Partnerships @UNICEF

With #UNGA79 and #SummitoftheFuture recently behind us, I came away, even more convinced than before, that collective action is key to shape a better world for future generations. We can’t drive meaningful change in a vacuum.   That’s why I am proud of our collective work with philanthropic partners like Melissa Sesana Grajales, UNICEF NextGen Global Principal. NextGen members themselves are the future and help create results for children today and into the future by committing their resources and expertise.   Like Melissa, our NextGen members around the globe are valuable partners of UNICEF who push the envelope and challenge us to think outside-the-box. Because collective action is the surest way to maximizing impact.
