Nazi Symbol Or Swastika? BTS' RM Under Fire Over Military Uniform Badge. ARMY Defends Him Against 'Haters'
BTS member RM found himself in the middle of a controversy when many claimed that he was wearing the Nazi symbol in one of his recent photos. But, ARMY and his massive fanbase in particular came to his rescue.
What is the controversy about?
It all started when Kim Namjoon aka RM, who is currently serving his mandatory military duties, was seen wearing an additional badge with a titled Swastika in the centre. The photo soon started getting strong reactions with many claiming that it was a Nazi symbol.
But, while on one side, a section of netizens called out the K-pop star for flaunting the Nazi symbol, ARMY came to his defence. Fans explained that the specific badge was given to military officers who performed religious duties within their units. These incuded chaplains, and those who provied spiritual counseling and guidance to soldiers.
They further explained how just like cross is for Christianity, the particular badge was a representation of Buddhism, much before Nazis adopted it.
