as good as a 4 star can be pros: clean (seriously everything gets cleaned non stop), spacious rooms, good food (only used the buffet), good wifi, good small gym, mid sized (everything close by) cons: no beach (but non stop shuttle to nearby dominicus beach is included), there is a ladder to swim in front of hotel and on I swam with a manatee that wandered in (otherwise snorkeling there is poor due to little coral or fish), in house dive shop does not permit solo or even buddy scuba diving - must use a dm and at 50$ a dive you can book dive boats in bayahibe for less (i used scubafun) and you are not stuck with strictly shore diving - which sadly is also lacking in coral or fish (best visibility dives were the shallow dive and the aquarium near catalina island - don t even bother diving in the rainy season - runoff turns all of waters around bayahibe into pea soup)
Raquel, Melaza and Chanel were amazing and kept us entertained with many activities everyday such as volleyball, ping pong, dancing, darts etc. There was live music such as a violinist and saxophone player during sunset which was beautiful. The bartenders were hilarious especially Yerlin, Juan, Laribel, Enrique and Erbido Zorrilla.
