This is absolutely not a 5 star hotel, I’m sorry to say. There are some nice things, it’s not all bad but way too many things that let it down. Yes it’s October, but all pools are absolutely freezing, including the water park. I brought wetsuits for the kids which has been a life saver. Even the indoor spa pool isn’t warm. That’s meant to be heated but really doesn’t feel it. The rooms are pretty good. Decent size, beds are comfy, nice smelling toiletries BUT how can you call yourself an ULTRA all inclusive when the only thing in the mini bar is water and you only get 4 coffee capsules and then have to pay €2 for each extra capsule?! There are very limited supplies in the bathroom, just shower gel, soap, shampoo and conditioner. No cotton buds etc but hairdryer is very decent. Could do with some drawers/shelves in the room. There’s only one small drawer and the wardrobe. The water park is great - apart from being freezing cold. Good slides for both older and younger kids and you can easily keep an eye on both. It’s right next to the little playground which is handy. The food kiosk has slushies, waffles, ice cream and other drinks which the kids love. The only bad thing is that some guests seem to think it’s ok to leave their litter lying around after they leave and nobody cleans it up. Gym is very small and not the best equipped but it’s ok. Kids club looks good, we’ve only popped in so far. They seem to have a good spectrum of activities and the staff seemed nice. Slightly frustratingly adults can’t stay in there with kids which is a shame as the pool table, play stations and table football are only in the kids club. There is no other games room. That’s another minus for this hotel. There is not much else to do for kids and adults together. There are some tennis courts and one ping pong table but it’s far too windy at the moment. Food - this is by far the worst thing. Breakfast is reasonable. A good selection of items but the overall quality of everything lets it down. Even the fruit isn’t very nice - melon tastes off, peaches are bruised, bananas are green or brown. Lunch is bad. Limited choice, quality is not good. Salad bar is decent and nice ice cream but all the cooked food doesn’t taste good. My kids are not fussy eaters and we’re struggling to find stuff we want to eat. For dinner, the buffet is marginally better. More choice at least. The a la carte restaurants only have availability at 9 or 9.30pm do that’s not an option with young kids. This is a biggie for me. I want to come away and eat nice food. Other places we’ve stayed in Crete had amazing food. The food really lets this hotel down and it does not deserve to be 5 star. The staff overall seem nice and I can see they’re working hard. They seem rushed off their feet at times. But management really need to pay attention to some of the things I’ve mentioned if they want to be called a 5 star hotel. The overall design and look of the hotel is nice. The outdoor pool is
