I have been to Branson just a few time, mostly stay in a cheap hotel (nothing cheap there people) or on the lake. Splurged on a 2 day trip with hubby just to get away, so luckily I chose correctly with Chateau on the Lake. I have traveled the world, seen 35 countries and too many to count hotels as part of my career so I know a bit about these things. Hotel was spectacular in beauty, elegance, service, and location. We received an upgrade to room 838 King Size suite lakefront view. And the room was outstanding in size, comfort, and privacy. We could see the pool and lake from our room, watch the sunset while sipping wine. All resorts have a high tax rate in addition to hotel fees in Branson, just comes with a tourist town. This also has a $28 per night resort fee, so that adds to the rate by about $60 per night. Still, the cheap hotels are easily over $100, our rate was $180 (they offer military discount) plus the local taxes, etc. For what was a 10 on the scale, worth every dime we paid. Two pools, two spas (indoor and then outdoor), a sweet shop with lovely desserts and ice cream, drinks, and I found the breakfast adequate. The views spectacular. Service good even though they were busy. There is an entire spa in addition, it was romantic weekend so we stayed together but next trip will make it a girls weekend and enjoy that amenity. Just being there for the weekend without going elsewhere would be lovely, but of course you have all of Branson to enjoy with only a 10 minute drive. Newby staff at counter, misspoke to a new checkin while I was waiting for something. Newby didn't realize the pamphlets on local activities are in a nearby lounge so he misspoke and told the guy they didn't have any information on local restaurants or events (I tried to give the guy insight) so that needs fixed. But I recommended internet to the guy, older guy wasn't amused and didn't want to learn the ”technology” on well your loss lol My new favorite place to go, only few hours from our home in Arkansas.

When booking a stay for a Blue Green Resort presentation, I was given the option to upgrade my accommodations to Chateau on the Lake. Upon looking at their website I thought this would be way better than whatever hotel my family and I would have been staying in. We were wrong. Check in was easy. Chase at the front desk was the only good experience in the whole place. Everything in the hotel was very dated. I felt like I was in a Ramada Inn circa 2005. There were no places to get anything to snack on or drink without going to the bar or their candy shop which closes in the afternoon as they removed their vending machines. They did have $7 bottles of water in the room I guess we could have drank. Our room never got below 70° even with the air running all day set at 64°. My daughter and her friend wanted to go swimming in their 24 hour indoor pool after we got settled in our first night, but children under the age of 18 aren’t allowed in the pool after 10pm. So we went up to take showers and go to bed. We had forgotten to bring our shampoo. I thought no problem, but there was no shampoo in our room either. There was a place in the shower for it next to the conditioner bottle and body wash bottle they had hanging, but no shampoo bottle. I asked the front desk for some and they acted surprised that we didn’t have any. They said they’d have some right up but never followed through. The following morning, while the wife and I went to our presentation, my daughter and her friend went to their restaurant for breakfast. I gave them enough cash to cover taxes and tip. My daughter called freaking out that they gave her a bill for $56 dollars. They tried charging two 12 year olds for adult breakfasts. I asked to talk to someone who said 12 and over are adults. Then just gave the phone back to my daughter. I told her to show them that on the signage they have posted clear as day 12 years old is the cut off for children. My daughter called me again saying they took the $20 I gave her then charged the rest to my room. Not a call from the staff or front desk asking if that was ok. Just charging things willy nilly. We ended up having to leave earlier than expected due to my work. As we were getting ready to go, I asked the front desk manager for a baggage cart so we could bring our things down. She insisted that their door guy go with me to use the cart. I said no thank you, he wasn’t needed as I can load the cart myself. She then said well we only have a couple carts and hundreds of check ins, so she couldn’t let me use it. So my family and I carried our bags down on our arms instead. Staying at a deeply discounted rate would be the only way I would ever stay here again. Our room had we booked it directly through them for the same weekend would have been over $1,000. It definitely is not worth it. I have been in Comfort Inns with nicer amenities, FREE breakfast and nicer front desk managers.
