all went by smoothly until the 4th night when the ceiling lamp became loose and fell on me while i was asleep! the housekeeping did not wash the toilet properly, did not top up the tissues or the toilet roll at all. we were left with a rather unpleasant stay in this place.

Gateway Madurai is a great place for those fond of little tranquility and isolation from the hustle and bustle of the city. Situated on a hillock, centred around a colonial architecture, with colonial decors and fixtures, the place gives a taste of bygone days. However exploring the property, reaching out to facilities, and even most of the residential blocks involves lots of climbing stairs and walking. The rooms are spacious and modestly furnished. The staff were very polite and helpful. Strangely the big hotel had only one running restaurant, that too with limited options. The breakfast layout was also very limited and during our 3 night’s stay, the same breakfast menu was repeated, which obviously was a monotony. The service was also very slow, maybe because all the points of services are scattered. I somehow felt that this lovely property is underutilised and needs some aggressive marketing with some improvement in service. Nevertheless recommend this hotel for a dignified stay!

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in so far. The hospitality is impeccable. Very helpful and friendly staff. Our breakfast was exceptionally good. Gym facilities were top notch. The hotel also provided us with a car and a driver whenever needed. Our driver Karthik was extremely kind and gave us great advice on the places to visit and places to eat at. Highly recommend him, as well as this hotel for a memorable stay in Madurai.

The front desk service was very good, but the business was very bad. To the hotel, don't let early check in understand, the front desk asks for the price, go to the restaurant to buy breakfast, the price of the restaurant is not the same as the price given by the front desk. When I checked out, I wanted to use the hotel's car to go to the airport. I asked the front desk for a price. I thought it was a little more expensive than Ola. It was okay. I said that I had a good meal and ordered it. After I came back, I changed the front desk. The price has changed. It is more expensive than Ola. Doubled. Early Check In, the hotel began to strictly demand that you can not check in early, must be 2 pm, after communication, helplessly understand, then go out for lunch, come back to 12 noon, found that the hotel even gave another pair of white couple check in, but also provide A towel and welcome drink. I didn't have this at all when I checked in. The above shows that hotel management is very confusing. The security guards greeted each other with enthusiasm. Breakfast is not expensive, but meals are average. The room hardware is very good, the air conditioning is also very powerful, but the refrigerator is very old, very noisy in the general heritage of the manor. The hygienic situation only looks beautiful, and if the wooden floor is stepped on, it will soon be dark. There are also a few large flies flying in the room, hey, a little disgusting. Overall, the price is not bad, that is, the front desk is very annoying, and the health situation is not equipped with hardware.

I must say the tour and traveller run by Mr. Gopal ji at Fortune Pandiyan Hotel, Madurai is really awesome. He provided me full details of day wise iternity of Madurai and Rameshwaram's famous places with print out when we just arrived at Fortune Pandiyan hotel, Madurai on day 1. Mr. Gopal ji is a very nice person and soft spoken.he also shared me his peronal pandit details who is basically pujari inside the Maa Minakshi temple. Pujari worshipped for our family and he provided us the direct acess of Maa Darshan. Not only this, Mr. Gopal ji have very excellent team and his assigned driver Mr. Mahendran ji took us at every place and also worked like a guide. My family have fully enjoyed this religious trip of Madurai and Rameshwaram. The car was sedan type and fully comfortable and price is reasonable compared to market. Belongs to a good hotel in the local area. The service staff is friendly and flexible, and early check-in is also allowed to check in. Originally, one of the more expensive ones in the local area was booked, waiting in the lobby for two hours, and rooms are not allowed to check in before 12:00. Cancel directly to this one. The location is very good, walking distance to the largest temple, there is a state-owned craft shop 300 meters near the hotel, the goods are rich and the price is conscience. Throughout South India, Madurai's temple is almost the best and most exquisite in South India. The local little palace is also worth a visit.

Un service amical et impeccable, très attentionné. La cuisine est très bonne , n'hésitez pas à demander de goûter les spécialités du chef . Petit déjeuner très copieux et réussi. Le coucher de soleil à la piscine avec la vue sur les collines environnantes est inoubliable.

We had booked a room at this Hotel for Aug 19th on the Hotel's website and had paid an advance of Rs.1000. We had an email confirmation received for our booking also. However, on arriving at the Hotel on 19th, we were informed that they cannot give us a room because of some ongoing event in Madurai. Not only that, till date, they have not refunded the booking advance despite emails and phone calls. However, I am grateful to one gentleman at the Hotel who was kind enough to point us to another alternate Hotel which had a room available where we could stay that night. If they had constraints for which they were canceling our reservation, they could have easily informed us on phone or email they won't be able to honour the reservation and should have returned the booking advance. Clearly, the Hotel does not think either one is necessary.

The hospitality of the staff is what impressed me the most. They were very helpful with our requests and constantly checked with us to see if everything was okay with our stay at the hotel. The restaurant also has a variety of food from different cuisines and was very tasty too. Will definitely recommend this hotel to any of my friends who are planning on visiting Madurai soon.
