2025 Reviews: Woodland Lakes Lodges Reviews from Real Guests.

I stayed in a Larch Waterside lodge with my family over Christmas (23 -27 December). We stayed in lodge 87. The lodge was OK. It was clean and well equipped, albeit a little dated. There were some appreciated touches, such as a glass of wine on arrival and a small Christmas tree set up in the lodge. The reception was warm. Some little essentials were left for us for cleaning and soap in the bathrooms. We specifically booked this type of break to enjoy the private hot tub. Unfortunately, this was a huge disappointment. On the first night, we found the jets barely worked. It was more like a warm bath and not to the standard of hot tubs we have used before. We reported this, but it was not resolved. The biggest disappointment was on Christmas day when the family headed out only to find the hot tub temperature wouldn't go above 32 degrees, which was well below an enjoyable level. We reported this boxing day, and the temperature was resolved, although the jets remained inadequate throughout our stay. We therefore didn't enjoy what we had booked. The hot tub was unpleasant and pointless. We could have booked nicer accommodation at a different park, without a hot tub for a much cheaper price. We paid more with the expectation to enjoy a hot tub. The park is OK. It was a nice setting. The swimming pool was nice but the changing rooms smelt foul. The onsite sports bar was OK but very crowded when we visited and difficult to find a seat. We did not use the small onsite shop as the prices were scandalous! I appreciate that it was Christmas, but certain things fell below our expectations. The communal bins were overflowing at times, and we did spot rats on the site. Despite the negatives, our stay was not all bad. I doubt we will stay at this park again though as we can't help feeling quite let down with the hot tub issues which we have never encountered when staying a similar parks before.

Would definitely recommend this place - the lodge was lovely and the lodge park has loads of facilities, sports bar is great and good to have a small shop on site at reception too. Restaurant is decent also. Only slight downside was our lodge didn’t have wifi and had poor signal but I should’ve checked that and not that it really mattered! Overall great and would go back.

Just returned from Woodland Lakes and had a wonderful time. On arrival the reception was very friendly and gave a map & directions to our lodge. Stayed in a Alder Waterside lodge. It was very clean, plenty of kitchen utensils, pots, pans , teapot to use. The view of the lake was lovely. Could park very close to lodge. Hot tub worked well after the jets were turned up. The swimming pool was lovely and clean and at 1 point had it to ourselves. The Waterside Inn was ok nothing special but convenient for a meal or 2. Harvey's sports bar next door great for a drink. Very clean site, nice to wander around. Met the goats lol. Only 10 minutes into Thirsk lovely little town. Would definitely return.

I had read reviews on here that painted a bad picture of wood lands lake! Please do not be put off! It is a beautiful little retreat with everything you could want! Lovely clean lodges, beautiful hot tub! The lakes are lovely! It has two bars and a restaurant a 5 minute walk! An indoor pool and a great reception are! We will be back

Nice lodge (number 56), warm and clean. However, a few repairs are needed to improve comfort. One of the doors leading to decking was permanently full of condensation as the seal had obviously broken. The larger sofa collapsed and we had to replace the wood under the cushions, which had holes in them! The kitchen floor squeaked really badly too the park itself is really nice and staff were helpful. This was our 4th visit here.
