For the past week, READPower have been hard at work installing solar units in Bram Fischerville, Soweto—and the journey has been nothing short of inspiring. Since starting on November 18th, we’ve been lighting up homes and hearts, empowering the community with clean, sustainable energy. But it’s about more than just electricity—it’s about giving Grade 3 & 4 learners the chance to study, dream, and thrive and increase the literacy rates in underserved communities. 📚🌟 The excitement continues as we collaborate with the incredible Bram Fischerville community to create brighter futures for South Africa’s children. Together, we’re making a lasting impact! Thank you to all of our partnerships for the incredible support. #READPower #LightUp4Literacy #SolarForChange #WorldChildrensDay #LiteracyMatters #nalibali #CommunityEmpowerment #Sustainability #YouthDevelopment

Happy World Teachers’ Day 🌍👩🏽🏫🤎📚 “A good teacher is like a candle—it consumes itself to light the way for others.” – Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Today, we celebrate the incredible role teachers play in transforming education and shaping the future. 🙌🏾✨ Teachers around the world are working tirelessly to inspire, guide, and empower the next generation. But it’s also a moment to reflect on the support they need to fully deploy their talents and vocation. ❤️ Let’s rethink the way forward for this essential profession globally, ensuring every teacher is equipped to make the difference they are destined to. Thank you to all the teachers who continue to light the way! 💡 #WorldTeachersDay #ThankYouTeachers #EducationForAll #SupportTeachers #READPower #TransformingEducation #nalibali #khulafundaliteracyprogramme

Now and then in our pursuit of happiness it is good to stop and just be happy… I have been reflecting on the spaces that have brought me great joy in my professional journey and one them is the facilitation work I get to do with the AIAFD / AADFI. Over the past 6 years I have been fortunate to facilitate training for approximately 20 Development Finance Institutions across the African continent. I have had an opportunity to impart knowledge and bring excitement to legal topics usually considered a bore. For me the joy in my facilitation work has been seeing how my training material has evolved over the years with learnings I have picked up along the way on the various transactions I have been fortunate to be part of. It has also been a pleasure seeing the value participants have found in the training and their appreciation for the critical role legal considerations play in transactions. As we set our next professional goals let’s remember to take stock of the audacious ones we have already achieved and allow ourselves to enjoy the journey.

Meet our solar guy, Sunny Morgan 💡 Energy instability perpetuates educational inequality. Students from disadvantaged backgrounds bear the brunt, widening the literacy gap. Fast-tracking renewable energy projects, like solar and wind, can power both homes and minds. #READPower is an example of innovating our way out of this crisis.
