I am pleased to announce that our funding application to The Table Mountain Fund was successful! The Rooiberg Breede River Conservancy will, over the next three years, invest these funds towards 1) employing and developing a young conservation professional, 2) developing and implementing a management plan and voluntary compliance system for the Conservancy and its member landowners, and 3) revamping the Conservancy's outward facing corporate identity and media to enhance its legitimacy and professionalism.

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗧𝗠𝗙-𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 In early 2024, in order to meet the Fund’s Conservation objectives, we put out a call for concept proposals that aligned with at least one of the Fund’s four Programmes – Fynbos Forever, Care, Prosperity and Pride. The projects had to be based within the Cape Floristic Region, aligned to the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, and address high-priority conservation needs. The response was overwhelmingly positive and after a thorough consultation process, we are excited to announce the nine projects selected as the newest recipients of TMF funding: 1. South African National Parks (SANParks) and Wilderness Foundation Africa: Facilitating living landscape conservation within the fynbos biome 2. The Character Company: TCC Legacy project 3. Grootvadersbosch Conservancy Trust: Rivers of Tomorrow - Youth-led State of the River reporting 4. Greater Overberg Fire Protection Association: Fire risk reduction in Walker Bay and Sondagskloof 5. Rooiberg Breede River Conservancy: Improved Environmental Management of the Rooiberg Breede River Conservancy 6. Nature Connect: Conservation Leadership Programme 7. BRAVE Rock Girl: Daring Disas Part 2 8. University of Cape Town: Conservation genetics of the Clanwilliam cedar, Widdringtonia cedarbergensis (wallichii) 9.
