🌟 Introducing Columba Leadership 🌟 We are proud to welcome Columba Leadership to the SDSN South Africa network! Founded in 2009, Columba Leadership’s goal is to awaken the potential of young people, helping them recognise their ability to lead change in their own lives, schools, and communities. By partnering with high schools across South Africa, particularly those in economically disadvantaged areas, Columba fosters environments that integrate values-based leadership, youth engagement, and youth-adult partnerships into the school culture, ensuring a lasting impact on development, learning, and teaching. Columba Leadership empowers young people not only during their time in school but long after, connecting Columba alumni to a purpose-led network where they can collaborate, access employment or bursary opportunities, and showcase their businesses, all while contributing to society. Columba’s mission is clear: “Awakening the leader within to change lives and communities.” By working closely with the Department of Education, they are strengthening the capacity of high schools to embed this leadership model and serve as catalysts for change. Joining SDSN SA offers Columba Leadership a platform to ensure the relevance of its leadership development programme and integrating more sustainability content. This partnership will also connect them with valuable research and strategic partners, further enhancing their impact on under-resourced communities and advancing youth engagement within the network. We are excited to collaborate with Columba Leadership as they continue to inspire young leaders and make a meaningful difference in South Africa!
