What an incredible experience at Old Mutual Insure's very first Youth Indaba featuring Thabile Nyaba Old Mutual Insurance Chief Risk & Sustainability Officer and Kopano Radebe, IISA Executive Manager: Professional and Development.

We were proud to collaborate with our valued corporate partner, Old Mutual Insure, for their inaugural Youth Indaba! This exciting event gave us the opportunity to inspire and empower students by sharing valuable insights into the world of insurance, from its importance in everyday life to the diverse and rewarding career opportunities it offers as well as the benefits of professional development and membership.

MEMBER PROFILE: SHERRYL HARDING- KLUSENER With 15 years insurance experience, Sherryl Harding-Klusener (FIISA) has specialised in Operations, Portfolio Management, Product Development and Product Risk & Support. Sherryl has a diverse skill set across both Short Term and Life portfolios. Starting her career as a Portfolio Administrator at Monitor Administrators back in 2010, she had the privilege of working in multiple roles and gaining diverse experience. She moved to Nedbank Insurance in 2018 where she worked in Operations and then moved into the Product Team in 2022. Having very little experience in insurance when she started, the “Insurance Bug” bit hard and transformed from a job into a career, with the opportunity of pursuing formal studies in the industry. Sherryl holds a full qualification in Short Term Insurance, Risk Management qualification and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management. She is pursuing an MBA in 2025. Sherryl was awarded Fellowship in 2018, something that she is immensely grateful for and proud of. Professional development and giving back to the industry is something very close to her heart. She serves on the council for the Insurance Institute of Kwazulu-Natal, where she was President for 2022 and 2023, as well as serving on the Membership Committee for the IISA. People, Training and Development are her greatest passions and for Sherryl, relationships are the greatest and most valuable asset.
